Killing The Competion Again, RSPCA?

Your reminder of what drives the RSPCA these days:
Roger Musselle, who has run Roger’s Wildlife Rescue in Woodingdean for 56 years, has been visited by the RSPCA, who he says took his pigeons away. The 77-year-old, who runs the rescue centre in Downs Valley Road with his wife Fleur, said the stricter rules and regulations left him no option but to shut down the centre.
“Due to excessive rules and regulations that are now being forced upon us who rescue wildlife, our facilities are no longer acceptable in the 21s century,” he said. “The RSPCA doesn’t consider our hygiene up to their standards. We have plastic cages instead of metal or steel cages.”

The horror, the horror!

“We at Roger's Wildlife Rescue have worked with other wildlife centres and veterinary surgeons successfully for many years and I am sorry for the extra pressure my decision to stop will put on you all.
“Wildlife and nature has always been and always will be my passion and I am still happy to continue giving out wildlife advice to anyone needing it.
“I will continue to work for the good of wildlife, but will not in future be taking in wildlife casualties at our home, as we have done for all those years.”

Who loses? The wildlife. Of course. It always does, doesn't it?

Let's Spin The Wheel Of Racism Once More...

...ooooh, car insurance!
Citizens Advice said it found that in some areas “the difference in price was more than 100%,” and that common risk factors such as crime rates and deprivation levels could not account for this.
“We’re concerned this suggests that areas with large communities of colour may be identified as more risky, even when objective risk factors are controlled,” it said. It found that quotes in areas with large proportions of black or south Asian people came in at least £280 higher than quotes in largely white postcodes, but that the ethnicity penalty was “up to £950 in some places”.

Well, cars and certain races don't seem to go well together, it really has to be said.

For the “customers” the researchers picked names often associated with certain ethnic groups, though Citizens Advice said these ended up not having much impact on the prices being quoted.
“This suggests this penalty is paid by everyone who lives in an area, regardless of their ethnicity.” it added.

QED. Because in areas of large ethnic 'minorities', everyone's at risk of being involved in a collision, if not causing one...

A Snowflake Opines...

I remember the first violent message I received on Instagram. It was a veritable bingo of hate: he mocked me, told me no one would want to look at my “dirty” crotch – though his language was worse, of course. He asked if “sluts” like me, moaning until they “get what they want”, was “what our country was coming to”, before reminding me that nothing was going to change. He finished by saying he hoped I was gang-raped “senseless” by 20 men. But, he didn’t use the word “men”. He used a racist slur instead, finishing the message with five middle-finger emojis.

So you blocked and deleted and got on with life. right?

I remember how my chest tightened and I grew hot with fear.

Oh...

I hadn’t been surprised to become the target of online hate.

Wait, you expected it?

When abuse fills up your DMs and your inbox, there’s no way to escape it.

Yes there is. Block, report, delete.

Those in charge of tackling of this abuse (sic) are usually men. They don’t really understand the impact it has on victims and survivors. They haven’t been in our shoes.

Some have, sweetie!

No single bill from parliament will solve this, and no single software update will either. A holistic and collaborative effort from the platforms, lawmakers and independent initiatives who know the reality of the issue, not just the theory, would be a positive start. Until then, we’ll share our locations with friends, add another dick pic to our screenshots folder and delete messages with trembling hands, hoping that one day our safety will finally become a priority.

Why should it? Everyone's safety should be a priority. What set of genitalia you possess shouldn't give you a head start, given young men are assaulted and killed at a rate of at least two to one...

Doomed From The Start...

The baby never had a chance with parents like these:
An inquest into his death today, not attended by either parent, heard neither of the family's two pet dogs were being supervised at the time of the attack, shortly before 2am.

The two dogs being, of course, the obligatory Staffies...

When paramedics arrived, Daniel and Amy refused to hold Reuben, the inquest heard.

If that didn't ring alarm bells, nothing should.

The parents were both arrested by police on suspicion of child neglect following the death, but prosecutors decided not to charge them in December 2020.
Detective sergeant Emma Compson said police will take no further action against Mr McNulty or Ms Litchfield and the pair had 'separated as a result of the trauma'.

No doubt they will say 'it's in the public interest', but is it? Really?

Ruth, Amy’s mother, said: 'We’re just glad it’s finished and we can properly move on.'

Yeah, just get another one. FFS, it was a baby, not a bloody goldfish!

Something Odd About This Case...

Loui Phillips was murdered in broad daylight in Monk Bretton on Sunday, August 8, by a 17-year-old boy he had never met.
The young Barnsley football fan was stabbed in the chest as he rode his bike with a friend along Fish Bank Lane at around 2pm and his killer then walked away.

A no-motive stabbing murder of a 15 year old stranger, and this isn't headline news

DCI Mark Oughton said: “This is an incredibly tragic case where an innocent young boy was stabbed to death because his attacker was jealous.

Jealous? Of what? We aren't told.

“The killer planned his attack, locating Loui and his friend having purposely set out to go and stab him.

This doesn't add up - it may just be clumsy phrasing, but it sounds as if the attacker did know the victim and targeted him personally.

He has shown no remorse for his actions and always maintained his innocence until Monday.
“Loui was still conscious after he was stabbed and managed to give a full account of the attack to a police officer on the way to the hospital. All he wanted to know was where his mum was.
“My thoughts are with Loui’s mum, and his family and friends today; they have suffered unimaginable loss this year and no court result can ever make up for that.”
The teenager will return to Sheffield Crown Court for sentencing on Friday, December 17.

Maybe we'll get some answers about what provoked the attack then. But isn't it odd that the national press seems to have taken no interest in this at all?

Maybe You Shouldn't Have Just Stood Guard..?

Police were forced to protect a dying seal on a beach as crowds hurled stones at it in its final moments.
The seal died just hours after officers attended the scene in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk to guard it on Tuesday.
Some people were spotted throwing stones at the grey seal, while parents were seen taking pictures of their children alongside the dying mammal.

Maybe you should have arrested a few of the ghouls and morons?

Or some of the grandstanding idiots who claim to 'help wildlife' (as long as it's not too inconvenient for them, of course):

Daniel Goldsmith, chairman of Marine Wildlife Rescue, attended the scene.
"Upon arriving we realised that we needed to euthanize the seal, which would be the most humane course of action.
"We needed to do it as soon as possible, otherwise it would end up at sea and its suffering would be prolonged. The crowds that had gathered made it difficult to do this safely."

Really? Why? The police were there standing guard, weren't they?

"We contacted Great Yarmouth Borough Council in order to assist with the removal of the seal after it was euthanised but they said they could not do so without advanced notice. We hoped to return later that day so the crowds would be quieter and hoped that the council would help then."

Wait, what? You knew the animal needed to be euthanised then and there. Why didn't you do it, instead of whining about 'crowds'..?

"Unfortunately they still couldn't. We returned at 4.30pm and the seal eventually went back into the sea, where it was seen floating limply but was not really swimming.
"It may take several days or weeks for a seal in this state to die and will likely turn up elsewhere along the coast in a poor state."

Well, yes, because you let it! And no, the council isn't on the hook for that, you are!

Great Yarmouth Borough Council said: "We received a call yesterday from a man who was on his way to Yarmouth to potentially put down a seal that had been found on Yarmouth beach.
"We were happy to assist and advised that the council could collect it from the beach once it was dead, but not before as the council does not handle live animals.
"The council advised we would be able to collect the dead animal the following morning. Normal council policy is for collection of animals within 24 to 48hrs, dependant on their location and how easy the access is to the site."

Someone needs to ask some hard questions of Mr Goldsmith. The behaviour of the spectators has drawn all the media attention. He should be getting some, too.

There's Nothing New Under The Sun...

Parents have long chastised children with the threat of withholding dessert unless the dinner plate is licked clean.
Now, however, it seems they will have to go one further and eat the crockery too before they can tuck into pudding - as a British company have launched a range of edible spoons, cups, plates and bowls. The tableware is made from wheat bran, similar to breakfast bran flakes, and is designed to hold hot or cold food.

It is, of course, the brainshild of an 'eco-company'

The plates are likely to cost more than the average picnic lunch, however, with a pack of ten large bran plates costing £7.99.
Stroodles has been making eco-straws made from pasta since 2019 and is now expanding its range to cover the full dining experience.

Sounds familiar, and I can't think wh...

Ah!

We're going backwards. So why is this considered 'progressive'?

She's Been Removed To A Gulag To 'Educate Herself', Comrades...

The director of one of the UK's biggest heavy metal festivals has "taken a step back" from her role after coming under fire for...

Smashing up a hotel room? Biting the head off a bat? Satanic imagery?

...an "uninformed" tweet.

Err...

Bloodstock's Vicky Hungerford was criticised after tweeting her annoyance at people putting their preferred pronouns on their email signatures.
It is a common practice in the LGBTQ+ community, and used by trans allies as a show of solidarity.

Oh, FFS! It's nothing of the sort, it's a tedious modern invention to let virtuesignallers prove how hard they genuflect to the latest trends.

Ms Hungerford said she was "genuinely upset I have caused upset".

Well, you shouldn't be. 'Upset' is what these people feed on - they crave it like vampires crave the blood of virgins.

A statement from Bloodstock Festival said: "We are deeply sorry to everyone affected by these uninformed comments.
"For now, Vicky has taken a step back from Bloodstock effective immediately, and will be taking the time to properly educate herself for a better understanding."

And if that isn't the creepiest thing you've ever read, I don't know what would be...

How Witchhunts Can Start...

A horrified mother was left shaken after a man...

Ooh, flashed her?

..."took pictures" of her and her children while they waited at the bus stop.

Wait, what?

The 27-year-old had been warned by a fellow passenger that she had seen footage of the family on the man's phone, which he had just taken.
Both disgusted and frightened, the mother-of-four quickly hopped on the bus and took her children home before calling the police.

So...she didn't actually see this man take pictures of her, she was told this by another complete stranger? And this generated such a panic she fled?

She explained: "The whole thing has completely shaken me up, to the point I don't really feel to safe (sic) to be out on my own with my kids.
"I was waiting for the bus with my kids in a push chair, the other two were at school, when a woman behind the guy involved started walking towards me.
"The woman stopped me and asked if I knew the man that was standing a bit further up the street, to which I said no.
"As she walked past, she'd seen him taking pictures/videos of me and the kids on his phone.
"I was so shocked, but I knew I couldn't confront him. I didn't know how he'd react and it could've put me and the kids in more danger. "

Note that phrasing: 'more danger'. As if she was in any to start with, unless she's from one of those tribes that believes he was stealing her soul...

All that was going through my head was I've got to get them on the bus and get them home."

Someone you don't know tells you something you didn't see that in no way harms you and you have to run home?

Determined to warn other families, the mother is now urging anyone with any information to contact the police.

Oh, FFS!

"All I know is he had a bit of paper in his hand and a phone, it looked like he was looking at the paper and doing something on his phone.
But I wasn't paying too much attention to what he was doing where I was just making sure we got on the bus safely."

You know, I've often stood in the street taking video of a particular spot that would probably have contained images of people. What am I doing, trawling for victims? No. Scanning a Pokestop.

Maybe that's what this man was doing. Maybe he was thinking of moving and taking images of the street to show his housebound partner. We don't know and we won't know.

But now anyone doing any of those things - all quite legal - run the risk of being regarded as a potential criminal.

All because of two women. And even before this witchhunt has got off the blocks, the next one has started its run, baton in hand, cheered on by the media.

Mankind Trans Activists Cannot Bear Too Much Reality...

The PM's wife speaks:
In her sole public appearance at Tory conference, the prime minister’s wife, who works as an environmental campaigner, said it was a “fact of life” that LGBT+ people experienced hate crimes due to their gender identity and sexuality.

I think that word 'works' is probably not quite accurate there...

The chair of the LGBT+ Conservatives group, Elena Bunbury, hit out at delegates to the conference whom she claimed had “brought into question” trans rights.

No-one's doing anything like that, though. Unless you feel that recognising biological facts is somehow doing th...

Oh, wait. Of course, you do:

The issue was compounded further when the health secretary, Sajid Javid, last week insisted that “only women have a cervix”, a statement which was criticised for failing to acknowledge the existence of transgender people.

Well, tough! It's a fact.

They still aren't women, and they will never possess a cervix unless it's on a jar by their bedside table, which frankly would never surprise me, some are clearly unhinged enough...

Several Tory MPs have spoken out in support of Javid’s statement...

What a depressing state of affairs, that it's not all of them. Certainly not our PM, who's proven himself a rank coward on this matter, as on so many others.

Johnson expressed her support for trans rights, telling a fringe event in Manchester on Tuesday: “Whether you are LGBT+ or an ally like me, we are all committed to equality and acceptance for everyone, whoever you are and whomever you love.”

I've no problem with acceptance. So long as you are OK that I'm accepting you for what you are, and not what you think you are.

Introducing Johnson to the stage, Bunbury said: “Trans people are not dangerous, they’re not scary, and they’re certainly not a threat to women and children – although the other event titles [at the conference] might think they are.”
Unfortunately, some have proven themselves to be just that. But it appears that - even in the areas where they should be safest from predators - women remain at risk, and our government and judiciary doesn't care.

Oz, The Great And Terrible...

Ever since their police gave up all pretence that the brutal covid restrictions were anything to do with concern for people's health and wellbeing, they seem to have decided that anything goes:

Furious parents have hurled abuse from the stands as they watched an all-boys netball team trounce a girls team 46-12 in a state grand final - after they were controversially allowed into the competition by organisers.

And they didn't even have to put on frocks and lippy!

Netball Queensland defended its decision to include the boys in the tournament, where they easily won their seven games on the way to the title, on the basis they had nowhere else to play due to the lower number of male players.

/facepalm

'We are hopeful this will be a catalyst for a stand alone men's competition in 2022.'
'Queensland Suns acknowledges the perceptions of disadvantage or unfairness for the girls regional teams, however the purpose of the opportunity afforded to us was not to overshadow them, but to provide some much-needed exposure on a significant stage,' it said.

This 'reasoning' is something I'm unfamiliar with, as I am of this new incarnation of the Aussie, no longer a tough-talking, resourceful but fair member of society. What the hell happened?

Here's Who You Were Clapping For, NHS Worshippers...

James Peter Farthing, 28, spoke to the 'teenager' on messaging service Kik - under the username 'olderc**k' - as well as on Snapchat.
The junior doctor, who worked for the NHS in Stockport, asked to see photographs of her body and shared an image of penis.
The account was actually being run by an undercover police officer and Farthing was later arrested for attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

Well, you know what they say about the Internet...

However, today he walked free from Minshull Street Crown Court after being handed a suspended sentence.

Errr, OK, even for Minshull Street, that's excessively lenient. Are we that short iof doctors?

Lawyers mitigating for Farthing, said he had been juggling working long hours during the pandemic, his wife's health condition and his training.
They said he had 'emotional struggles', had been watching pornography and smoking cannabis at the time - but that he was working to address his issues.

So a doctor thinks that the best way to cope with stress is smoke illegal drugs and watch obscene material? Boy, if this creature ever finishes its training, I hope someone oversees what prescriptions it writes!

His supervisor - a consultant - and training programme director provided statements to the court.
Staff and patients 'all expressed shock' after Farthing was arrested, the court heard, as people thought he had a good 'moral compass'.
Mr Gurney said they 'stand by him' because they acknowledge his remorse.

People thought the world of Harold Shipman too...

It Would Be Funny If It Wasn't Such A Disaster...

Eco-friendly light-emitting diode (LED) bulbs used in streetlamps produce more light pollution and are killing off insects, a new study shows.

Maybe they should have made the study before rolling them out everywhere...?

They're often energy-efficient, cheap to run and brighter with more blue wavelengths, but this means they're also likely making insects more exposed to predators. The insects could also be getting killed from coming into contact with hot lights, which may also deter them from laying eggs.
Moths are important because they're pollinators, hosts for parasitoids and prey for vertebrates like birds and bats and invertebrates like spiders, the experts say.

*sighs* Once again, just as with diesel vehicles, the 'sage experts' have proven to be not worth their hire.

But since 'science' got us into this, maybe it can get us out?

Boyes told MailOnline that minor tweaks that could be made to LEDs that could minimise their negative impacts on insects without comprising on energy efficiency, such as reducing emission of blue wavelengths.

I wonder how much that'll cost? And who'll pay..?

Protecting Our Borders..?

The number of foreign criminals released from prison on to the streets has reached a record high of almost 11,000.
Official figures show that at the end of June there were 10,882 foreign national offenders who had been released from jail but not deported.
All are subject to deportation because they were handed prison sentences of at least 12 months.

I wonder how many new ones we are unknowingly (or in the case of the 'Tory' government, uncaringly) admitting right now?

The latest total has rocketed by 176 per cent since 2012, when the number stood at less than 4,000.

Wasn't the Tory Party once the party of law and order? I'm sure I remember it used to be...

One in eight prisoners in jail in England and Wales are now non-UK citizens, or 9,850 of the 78,000 behind bars.

Will we see that figure rise in the future? I'm not a betting woman, but I'd have a flutter on that.

You Could Alway, Oh, I Don't Know, Be A Parent?

This column is not, of course, about how the son will cope at all, Reader, you'll no doubt be unsurprised to hear...

I have to tread carefully here, of course. I respect the protocols and think they should be followed. I’m also keenly aware that the prospect of 10 days without childcare is hardly the most onerous blow people have experienced in the past 18 months.

I'm sure those Afghans plummeting to their deaths from a US plane had your struggles firmly in their minds...

In the end, my wife worked in the mornings and I took the afternoons. For his part, the boy was very pleased. He’s still pretty sketchy on his days of the week, but even he began to wonder why the weekend was lasting so long. Not that he was complaining; he delighted in the strangeness of his break like it was a summer holiday from a dead-end job.

That your son is delighted to have both parents actually pay him attention rather than farming him out to strangers should give you pause, if you possessed a shred of self-awareness.

To be honest, it astonishes me that he relishes time away from nursery since I’ve been in that place and it’s amazing. I don’t want to be reductive, but I think I’d quite like a nine-to-five routine where I got to build Lego and play at water tables all day, with a dozen of my closest friends.

Remind me again, who's the child in this situation?

Good Riddance, And Thank God You've Failed...

Prisons reflect society back to itself: they embody the ways we have failed, the people we have failed, and the policies that have failed, all at immense human – and economic – cost.

We haven't failed the people in prison; they've mostly failed themselves.

As chief executive of the prison reform charity the Howard League for the past 35 years, reforming prisons has become my life’s mission. In October, I will leave my work with one sad but inescapable conclusion: prisons are the last unreformed public service, stuck in the same cycle of misery and futility as when I arrived.

So you've wasted your life just as surely as those behind bars? How fitting, karma's working overtime here...

Minister after minister has done nothing to address the central question haunting our prison system: what is it all for?

It's to punish the guilty and keep the innocent safe from their depredations. What else could it be for?

At the heart of prisons is the fact that they are fundamentally unjust. They embed and compound social, economic and health inequalities.

Ah, yes. If someone commits crime, it's never because they are greedy or bad - it's because they were 'driven to it' by factors outside their control.

What would your solution be, then Frances, were someone ever stupid enough to grant you any real power?

The whole system needs radical overhaul, starting with a swingeing reduction in the number of people we imprison. Custody is the most drastic and severe response the state has at its disposal and should only be used in exceptional and rare instances – either for the most egregious crimes, or when someone poses a serious and continuing threat to public safety. Abiding by that principle would virtually empty our prisons of women and children, and drastically reduce the number of men behind bars.

And drastically increase the crime rate. Brilliant plan!

Over the past 35 years, I hope that I have contributed to making things just a bit better. I am most proud of the work we have done with police forces to reduce the arrests of young people, saving hundreds of thousands of children from experiencing the trauma and lifelong damage of being arrested.

Young people like these, you mean? You sicken me more than they do,

It's Not Animals They Care About, Is It?

The Aspinall Foundation, which is fronted by Mrs Johnson, said it plans to transport a total of thirteen elephants - weighing 25 tonnes - more than 4,000 miles on a Boeing 747 to a secret location in Kenya in a 'ground-breaking step for this country and the conservation movement'.
The charity said it would work with anti-poaching teams to help ensure the long-term survival of the 13 animals - including three babies - once they reach one of two sites under consideration in southern Kenya.

Well, the Kenyan authorities must be overjoyed, surely?

But Kenya's Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife said it 'noted with concern' the reports in the British media about what the charity has described as the first rewilding project of its kind.
'The ministry wants to state that neither them nor the Kenya Wildlife Service have been contacted or consulted on this matter,' the ministry said. 'Relocation and rehabilitation of an animal from a zoo is not easy and is an expensive affair.'

But how could they turn this down, aren't they short of elephants over there?

Reader, they are not

Damian Aspinall, chairman of The Aspinall Foundation, told the Daily Telegraph: 'This is an incredibly exciting project and a genuine world-first. As with any conservation project of this magnitude, there are obviously big risks, but we consider them well worth it to get these magnificent beasts back into the wild where they belong.'

Yes, of course you do. Because it's not about the welfare of the animals at all, is it?

Sometimes The Jury System Produces The Right Result...

...but Reader, this is not one of those times:
A knifeman accused of threatening to kill a man before stabbing him reacted after “abuse was shouted at him”, a court heard.
The trial of Allan Lindsay entered its second day at Basildon Crown Court yesterday with the 56-year-old taking to the witness box to give evidence.
Lindsay denies intending to cause the man grievous bodily harm in the stabbing on May 2 last year at the junction of Victoria Avenue and Queensway in Southend.
Lindsay was grilled by prosecuting barrister Karl Volz, where he claimed he started to follow the pedestrian because he had abused him.

Yes, you heard that right. The accused pursued the victim with a knife.

The jury previously heard the victim had been walking when Lindsay had shouted abuse at him, saying he should “go and die”.
He is then alleged to have approached him before producing a knife and stabbing him, which the court heard narrowly missed the victim’s heart.

And hence, the CPS clearly thought "Well, this is open and shut!"

The trial of Allan Lindsay, 56, of Marine Parade, Southend, concluded at Basildon Crown Court today with the jury unable to decide if Lindsay had intended to cause his victim serious harm.
The jury acquitted him on another charge of making threats to kill by majority verdict.
A provisional sentencing date has been set for July 19 for the charge of unlawful wounding. The Crown Prosecution Service will be considering over the next week whether a retrial will be sought.

For Lindsay, or for the idiot members of the jury on grounds of being idiots?

"They livin' it up at the Hotel California..."

And the residents are fleeing in their droves as a result:
Scott Thatcher and his wife Angela were born in California and love the sun-kissed Golden State. But two months ago they sold their home, packed up their belongings and travelled 1,700 miles with their three sons to start a new life in Texas.
Now the couple have a far bigger home in Fort Worth – and although they earn slightly less, they take home more money thanks to lower taxes in Texas.
As Scott says: ‘You pay a high premium for the Californian lifestyle.’

It seems to be a lifestyle that people feel is no longer worth that price. Lots of people...

For the first time in a glorious 171-year history that attracted thousands seeking fortunes during the 19th Century Gold Rush, gave birth to the global movie industry and unleashed the digital revolution, California has seen its population – currently just under 40 million – decline.
It shrank by 182,083 last year – equivalent to all the citizens living in the coastal idylls of Santa Monica and Santa Barbara combined.

And it's not just taxes. Far from it.

Families and firms are being driven away by the high cost of living, crime fears, hefty taxes, inadequate housing, interfering officials, persistent political failures, red tape, raging wildfires and the squalor of streets littered with homeless drug addicts.
‘It is very sad,’ said Scott. ‘I will always love California but it has changed. It is not what it was when I was a kid, or even five years ago. I could never go back.’

It's very sad - I loved San Francisco when I visited 20 years ago, but even then, the rot was beginning to set in.

Delian Asparouhov is typical of those who turned California into such a powerhouse: a computer geek who attended the top-ranking Massachusetts Institute of Technology, launched a space start-up, was backed by a billionaire and became a venture capitalist in the state.
Yet this month the Bulgarian-born entrepreneur, still ony 27, bought a house in Miami, Florida.
He said: ‘Silicon Valley has a stifling intellectual climate with its mono-culture that only allows one viewpoint to be expressed. It seems to espouse the same socialist values as the Soviet Union.
‘So I am fleeing just like my parents fled a similar system for America when I was a kid.’

Ouch! What do the politicians think about this? Well, you guessed it...

Little wonder senior Democratic figures are on the defensive.

And how!

A senior Democrat faces the media...

One insisted to me that the population exodus was ‘largely a myth’ spread by political enemies.
‘The whole notion that people are fleeing California in droves is false,’ he said.

Numbers don't lie.

Maybe This Is The Real Plan..?

Chief Constable Adderley...

Oh, him again..?

...made the comments whilst voicing his 'strong feelings' against the College of Policing's plans to require all recruits to gain a degree before joining the force - rather than the traditional training programme.
The police chief said he believes the 'very, very young workforce coming through' who believe they are 'invincible' will cause a 'perfect storm' when combined with the growing anti-police violence forces are now facing.

Yes, it's almost uncanny, isn't it? If the powers that be wanted to cultivate a growing disrespect for the police, it's hard to see what they'd do differently, isn't it?

He told Police Oracle how some new recruits in Northamptonshire had been so 'taken aback by the role' and the violence the force deals with that they had walked out of self-defence training
Some told the force they hadn't realised that working weekends and nights was part of the role, the Police Oracle reports.
Chief Constable Adderley said that the recruits have 'no life experience' and he clearly tells them that the training 'is not an extension of sixth form college. This is a really serious business'.

Add this to the damage that diversity hires are doing, and that long march has conquered another institution.
