Medicine Giving Way To Groupthink Is Indeed A Tragedy, George…

...funny how I never heard a peep out of you when all the psychiatrists decided that if you felt like a memnber of the opposite sex. you were right, and this was a mistake to be corrected. Or when all those doctors who'd previously said masks were ineffective for covid suddenly about-faced and swore blind they were our only hope.
...the story spread so widely by the media – that ME/CFS patients were irrationally refusing treatment and abusing those who offered it – stuck, in the NHS and beyond. Medicine gave way to groupthink.
Here are some things that should not need stating. Scientists and those who champion them should never close ranks against empirical challenge and criticism. They should not deny requests for data, should not shore up disproven claims, should not circle the wagons against legitimate public challenge. Above all, those who suffer the most should be listened to the most.

I also seem to recall you're rather keen on climatologists closing ranks against empirical challenge and critiscism.

No, Veronica, We Really Aren’t. We just Want You To Stay In Your Lane...

Let’s admit it: cisgender people are really curious about us trans women. They want to know things such as: what’s it like to have a surgeon rearrange your genitals? How did you know you were really a girl all along? Does it suck having to be on the downside of sexism now?

As a 'cis woman' (translation: normal, genuine female) I can honestly say I'd rather not know any of those things, any more than I'd want to know the details of any other mental patient's delusions. But since the driving force amongst so much of the trans lobby is narcissism...

For our own part, trans women are curious about cisgender folk, too. We want to know things like: do you actually think I’m female, or am I just a deluded guy in a dress to you? If I try to have a beer at your bar, will you violently assault me? Am I ever going to get to use a public bathroom again?

The answers are: the latter, probably not, as a genuine female I'm not physically aggressive, and yes, of course you can, but it should be the gents.

This column is, of course, generated because of the 'documentary' where Will Farrell goes on a road trip with his old friend who is now believing himself to be a woman. Some friend you are, Will. If he was an alcoholic, you'd no doubt be taking him to a distillery.

... throughout the movie, she is game to answer any of the questions the cis world has for her, and she even gives Ferrell complete carte blanche to ask her anything whatsoever. She doesn’t give any indication that she feels the sense of violation that many of us do feel at such personal invasions.

Because the driving force for this trend appears to be severe narcissism; it's the thing that all 'trans men' appear to have in common.

I understand that intense desire to make yourself comprehensible to the world, to have it hear the story of your life that has been hidden for decades, to share all the pain you’ve tucked away. When I watched Will & Harper, I really wished that Ferrell might have stopped to ask himself why his friend seemed so eager to tell him about every last personal detail of her life and why she was willing to expose herself to one dangerous situation after another during their road trip.

Because narcissism, 'Veronica', that's why.

I was one of the fortunate ones who managed to reclaim my pass back into humankind, and now I have the immense privilege of getting to decide who exactly is safe enough to inform about my past. Those who aren’t that fortunate have to do their best to find a place in a world where we’re a widely misunderstood, stigmatized and increasingly vilified 1% of the population.

The Eternal Victim... Move over Scousers, there's a new one in town.

We All Know Who's Really Not Thinking Straight...

A Labour MP has hit out at a primary school for getting young children to pose with a trans-inclusive pride flag. Rosie Duffield said the 'tiny' pupils could not understand the concepts of sexuality and gender identity they were being encouraged to celebrate, and should be left alone to discover them when older.
She spoke out after campaigners spotted that the London school had posted publicly on social media a photograph of an infant school class marking 'Pride Day' last month.

I wonder if - given schools are very wary about pictures of their pupils appearing on social media - they sought the approval of all the parents before hitting 'post'? I suspect they didn't, which is even more of a safeguarding issue than the genderwoo nonsense.

One young boy held a sign stating: 'I can't even think straight.'

Too young to have the slightest clue what that means. But of course, schools consider children mere props for empty-headed virtuesignalling these days. They need to be reminded that they are not. By a court case, if necessary.

The school put it on Twitter/X last Friday with the caption: 'Being proud of who we are and celebrating pride values.'
But amid a backlash yesterday [tues] the photo, along with several others showing older children with rainbow flags, was deleted from social media and the school's website. In previous years the school had asked pupils to wear bright colours on Pride Day and donate £1 which would go to controversial lobbying group Stonewall as well as to 'buy more inclusive resources'.

And the school have now turned a bit shy...

The school did not respond to requests to comment.

I wonder why.

People Were Happy Granting Them An Inch....

...but now they've seen how they want to take a mile, they've changed their minds.

Public support for transgender people's ability to change the sex on their birth certificates has drastically fallen in recent years, a major survey reveals. Just 24 per cent of people now agree that trans people should be allowed to change their sex 'if they want' – compared to support levels of 58 per cent in 2016. The results have emerged as part of the British Social Attitudes report, carried out annually by the National Centre for Social Research.

Predictably, the trans activists are pointing at 'the media' as the culprit, because they've apparently been convincing the easygoing British public that there's a danger from trans people. Which is somehow not true.

We are asked to assume that it's not the case that demanded medical overreach and stifling of mainstream opinion have harderned attitudes, that people would otherwise be totally fine with the use of a once-respected police force as a silencing agent for our free speech, even to the point of wasting time on non-crime

Researchers also looked at public opinion on trans rights – and came to similar conclusions. Asked whether they thought trans rights had gone too far, 47 per cent of the public thought they had.

I worry about the other forty-three percent, frankly!

The researchers said: 'It could be argued that this apparent shift in attitudes may be restricted to the specific issue of gender self-identification.
'Alternatively, perhaps the intensity of debate [has] influenced attitudes towards people who are transgender more broadly, with the result that views towards society's protection of their rights may have shifted in a more illiberal direction.'

It's not society's protection of their rights that concerns people, it's their demands that everyone else's rights should be trampled on to give them what they can never have.

The Tyranny Of The HR Department

A major British industry group has been accused of publishing impractical guidance over whether self-identifying transgender women can use single-sex spaces. The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) states in a guide that refusing a transgender person female-only facilities could be 'discrimination' in law.

The fact that this collection of blue-haired harpies who swallowed the Stonewall kool-aid is considered a 'major British industry group' at all gives you a good idea of why we are no longer a world-leader...

But Maya Forstater, chief executive of gender critical group Sex Matters, said the charity - which represents HR professionals - should 'start again' with its approach.Former thinktank researcher Ms Forstater told the Daily Telegraph: 'We think the CIPD's guidance on trans and non-binary should be scrapped and started again. It's written in a way that sounds like it's taking everyone into account, but it's not usable.

Well, that rather depends on exactly who it was written for, Maya, and what its intended use was...

'She added: 'The answer that 'you should consult and take legal advice' is not practicable. What we're talking about is a big company, retail or anywhere with lots of sites all over the country, some of them have a picture of a woman in a dress in the door.

They have a picture of a human figure in a dress. Whether that only applies to Brenda from the typing pool or includes Ron from Maintenance is what buys solicitors their next Ferrari...

'Are they female only? The answer can't be 'we'll take legal advice'. The answer has to be yes or no.'

Expecting a clear and unequivocal answer from HR departments? Might as well wish for a unicorn...

"Your scientists were so preoccupied by whether or not they could...."

"...that they didn't stop to think if they should."
A trans woman has been helped to breastfeed her grandchild, in what is thought to be a world first.
The unidentified 50-year-old was helped to express up to 30ml of milk at a time, after a four week course of hormone treatment.
Researchers from Duke University reported the woman ‘lactated for a total of two weeks’ and was able to feed the four-month-old baby.
The motivation for inducing lactation was to create a ‘bond from breastfeeding that she had not been able to experience with her own five children’.
And we revile Dr Frankenstein? Not sure why. He was clearly a rank amateur. And at least he never used a live child as a prop in his revolting experiments. You know who did? Dr Mengele. And if he'd been caught, he'd have been hanged. If that's who you want to emulate, Duke University researches, god help you.
‘The patient tearfully reported this was a significant and emotional experience for her that felt very different from formula feeding her other children. ‘She states she has a special bond with this baby for which she is grateful.
‘The patient did not experience any side effects from her treatment regimen.

What the hell is wrong with the actual mother allowing her child to be subjected to this? If the scientists are blinded by personal glory, what's her excuse?

The issue of trans women breastfeeding is subject to controversy – gender-critical campaigners described the study as ‘absolutely shocking’.

The ordinary person on the street would, I'm sure, have a more pithy, and more accurate, response.

If You Want This To Stop...

...then don't start to play:

The Collegiate Charter School of Lowell Girls' Basketball team dropped out of their February 8 game against KIPP Massachusetts after one of KIPP's players, who is a biological male, injured three of their athletes.

Why did they ever agree to play in the first place? If the Harlem Globetrotters were asked to play a team with a white member who'd blacked up, would they? Or would there be riots at the very idea...?

How, exactly, is this any different?

Collegiate Charter School officials said the team decided to forfeit because the other players feared getting injured and not being able to compete in the playoffs that were a few days later.

Ladies, if you want this farce to stop immediately, stop enabling them by agreeing to play in the first place.

It's About Time!

Grassroots police officers have launched a gender-critical network to push back against forces they are concerned have adopted self-ID policies not recognised in law. The serving officers have launched the Police Sex Equality and Equity Network, accusing the service of 'actions that embed gender ideology' within forces nationwide.
They called on bodies representing both rank and file officers, as well as chief constables, to recognise lobby groups and activists within policing in England and Wales had created a 'culture of fear' among those holding gender-critical views.

Maybe they should solicit donations from the public

Police SEEN have said the group intends to emulate the civil service network, which was established 'to re-focus attention on improving equality and equity between women and men'. The group said in a statement: 'Police SEEN warns that the influence of lobby groups and activists within UK policing has created a culture of fear which prevents officers and staff who believe there are two sexes and that sex is real and immutable, from speaking out, for fear of disciplinary action.
'They believe a formal internal network is desperately needed, not only to provide a voice and support for those who want to ensure the law is upheld, but also to restore political impartiality to policing.'

Oh, that it's come to this..!

Another Boris 'Big Idea' Bites The Dust...

Plans for a ban on gay conversion therapy look set to be ditched amid government concerns about the potential unintended consequences.
Boris Johnson pledged to ban the discredited practice during the 2019 election campaign, but the process has been mired in delay.

Gosh, why is yet another Boris promise biting the dust? Well...

Some ministers are said to be concerned that the ban could have 'unintended consequences' for parents and teachers dealing with trans children. Campaigners have warned that a badly-worded ban could leave teachers open to court action if they tell children not to use opposite-sex toilets or prevent boys competing in girls' sport.

Heh! I do so love unforseen consequences!

Earlier this week, the Scottish government postponed a ban on conversion therapy amid warnings it could criminalise parents who question their child's wish to change gender.
Holyrood had promised to publish legislation by the end of 2023, but it was dropped from a new programme for government - the Scottish version of the King's Speech.

Listen, if even the bonkers Scottish government is calling a halt, it's time to admit it was never a starter in the first place.

Well, That's Awkward...

...it's almost like men and women aren't interchangeable, as is if biological sex actually mattered, was real

How will the trans cult take this news?

So Am I, Brent, So Am I...

...it's appalling.

But surely what's even more appalling is that they are trying to 'educate' children that babies gestate in the digestive system, rather than the womb?

You know, that organ men don't have, and never will?

Don't They Say In Texas "You Can Run, But You Can't Hide"..?

I really hope it's true.
An investigation led by Republican Texas attorney general, Ken Paxton, has sent doctors at an Austin hospital into a panic, causing all the physicians in its adolescent medicine department to depart.

Hmmm, 'adolescent medicine'? Treating acne and growth spurts?

Not quite!

Earlier this week, Dell Children’s Clinic, which provides gender-affirming care for trans children, announced to parents that they would need to find new providers for their children in transition.

Let's hope this is just the start of the pushback against this insidious trend...

Paxton’s office claimed the investigation was being conducted on the grounds that the care these children were receiving was illegal because they were under the age of 18.

How much under, I wonder?

Baby Steps, Baby Steps...

Hundreds of doctors and midwives have signed a letter urging the NHS to scrap a £100,000 training programme to encourage use of terms including ‘chestfeeding’ and ‘human milk’.
It should be 'hundreds of thousands', but hey! 'More joy in heaven..', and all that...
The Maternity Gender Inclusion Programme is to be rolled out nationwide with a focus on improving maternity care for pregnant transgender patients.
Or as we would say, 'women with mental health issues that make them believe they are really men'.
Following a pilot last year at the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Trust, the NHS is looking to roll out the training to at least 40 NHS maternity services. Rebranding its maternity department as ‘perinatal services’, it claimed ‘gender identity can be a source of oppression and health inequality’.

If by 'health inequality' they mean that men they allow themselves to call women will never bear children', then they'd better take that up with human evolution.

One midwife, who asked to remain anonymous for fear over her job, said colleagues were very concerned by the proposal – which was based on research that lacked independent evaluation or assessment on how it could impact non-trans patients and other disadvantaged groups.
She said: ‘To give £100,000 on the basis of this really rather kind of shoddy piece of work appears to us to be not based on improving outcomes for mothers and babies, but based on driving an ideological agenda.

Yes, of course it is. The very fact that this midwife feels she can't use her real name shows that pretty clearly, doesn't it?

An NHS spokesman said: ‘The NHS has paused this programme while we look into its scope and so that it is based on the latest evidence.’

Translation: "We would have got away with it if it wasn't for you meddling kids!"

Looks Like The Mermaid Is On The Hook At Last...

...time to get the gaff out, and land her:
The commission said it was yet to draw any conclusions and the escalation of the investigation was not indicative of a finding of wrongdoing.

Sure, sure...

It is not clear whether the unexpected and unexplained resignation of the charity’s chief executive, Susie Green, on 25 November was prompted by the commission’s decision to launch a statutory inquiry, which was made public on 28 November.

Sure, sure...

Mermaids has faced heightened public scrutiny in recent months. It is involved in court hearings after launching an appeal against the Charity Commission’s awarding of charitable status to LGB Alliance, which has been critical of “gender ideology’’. It is understood to be the first time one charity has attempted to strip legal status from another.

They always overreach, don't they? It's always that which brings them down at last...

Why Should The Justice System Care About The Criminal's Mental Health..?

Shouldn't it be more concerned with that of the victim?
A thief who assaulted and stole thousands from a vulnerable neighbour has dodged jail because he is transitioning.
Judge Robert Linford told Truro Crown Court the 'extremely unusual' decision was made because the 26-year-old would currently have to be held at a women's prison.
Andrew's defence barrister argued this would affect his mental health and delay the process of his transition by months, if not years.

It's a woman. That's why she has to be held at a woman's prison.

Prosecutor Katie Churcher said Andrew came up with a litany of reasons why he needed the money from his neighbour, who was said to be vulnerable. These included needing a locksmith, a train fare, a medical emergency and moving to Manchester.
Andrew was actually funding a drug addiction, buying cannabis and cocaine, and settling debts with dealers.

So many of these cases hinge on drugs, don't they? Is anyone looking into a connection?

Some Are, Undoubtedly, But Not The Ones That Are Always In The Papers, Colin...

Colin Macfarlane, the director of Stonewall Scotland, told members of the Scottish parliament’s equalities, human rights and civil justice committee: “There has been a whipping up of a moral panic and an othering of trans people in the public discourse. Trans people are not an ideology – trans people are our friends, our family and our colleagues.”

My friends, family and colleagues don't do this sort of thing:

Of course, the police did nothing...well, no, not quite, they did threaten the victim that she could be arrested for breach of the peace for being attacked. Which is par for the course these days, isn't it?

Macfarlane told the committee the reforms would have no impact on the Equality Act – which affords protection from discrimination on the basis of sex, race, religion, gender reassignment and other characteristics. However, later in the session EHRC representatives said further examination was required of the implications of recent court cases on evolving legal concepts of sex, for example.

"Not so fast!" says the EHRC at last. "Your side keeps losing, so maybe we need to look at why..."

But Macfarlane said he wanted to highlight “this presentation of trans people and trans women in particular as a threat”, stating it was “deeply unfortunate … that there has been misinformation, some of it deliberate, around what the provisions of this bill will mean for the impact of women and girls”.

We know what it means. That's the problem.

Should've Gone To SpecSavers, 'Metro' Headline Writer...

Are they just gaslighting their entire readership?

Police boarded the train at Reading station in Berkshire and searched her, but no weapons were found. She was arrested and held for questioning.

At Reading magistrates’ court, Clifton, of Weybridge, Surrey, admitted religiously aggravated behaviour and being in breach of a criminal behaviour order. She was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison.

Which prison? It better not be a woman's prison...

Sgt James Smith, of British Transport Police, said outside court: ‘Clifton’s disgusting and unprovoked actions on the train were completely unacceptable.

There's a few other things in this case that are 'completely unacceptable'...

‘We take incidents of hate crime extremely seriously. Behaviour where someone is targeted because of who they are or made to feel uncomfortable will not be tolerated anywhere on the rail network.

I'm made to feel uncomfortable. Can you guess why?

‘I am thankful to the courts for the sentenced imposed and hope it gives her time to reflect on her behaviour.’

There you go! That's what makes me - and hundreds of thousands of other women - uncomfortable. The official pretence that a man in a dress will be treated as a woman, and admitted to women's safe spaces, simply because that's what he claims to be....

Halting That Long March...

Top BBC executives intervened to tweak an article written by a staffer who used the phrase 'assigned female at birth' to describe women. Rhodri Talfan Davies, the BBC's director of nations, reportedly requested 'women' replace the phrase 'assigned female at birth' in a March 26 feature on endometriosis.

And, predictably, the online 'community' exploded in rage:

According to the Times, internal information show readers' complaints about the article increased after the phrasing was edited.

Yet for once, the BBC stuck to their guns. And also expanded their corrections:

Another article was recently updated about a suspected serial killer to make clear she had only recently started identifying as a transgender woman.
Interesting! Did they, perhaps, sense which way the wind was starting to blow

But battles are always fought on more than one front:
An NHS equality chief has rallied colleagues and urged them to ignore the ruling from a government watchdog which states trans people can be legally excluded from single-sex wards.
Tara Hewitt, the group head of equality, diversity and inclusion at Northern Care Alliance NHS Group, slammed the ruling as 'transphobic' and urged her colleagues to ignore its guidance.

Why would a woman who has the position of equality chief be so vehement (and wrong) in her mutiny against...

Oh. Another thing that battles must beware of - enemy infiltration.

That's Nothing Compared To The Damage It's Causing To Our Political Elite!

Angela Rayner warned today that the ongoing culture war over gender rights is causing 'damage' to young people - and it is unacceptable to ask a trans woman if they had a penis.
The Labour deputy leader struck a conciliatory tone as she said that women-only spaces should be protected at the same time as people changing gender should be supported.

Good luck with squaring that particular circle, Angie baby! Of course, it's all an attempt to row back after her boss showed his lack of fortitude:

It came after her boss, party leader Sir Keir Starmer, yesterday refused to say if a woman can have a penis during a debate about trans rights.
Asked if a woman can have a penis, Starmer told LBC yesterday: 'I'm not... I don't think we can conduct this debate with... I don't think that discussing this issue in this way helps anyone in the long run.'

It's certainly not helping your party, is it? Not that the Tories have anything to boast about on this score, either...

She was asked about Liverpool's Walton Centre NHS Trust, which has begun to ask all men whether they are pregnant before undergoing scans. The procedure can affect unborn children.
Ms Rayner said there will be circumstances where it is reasonable to ask a trans man if they are pregnant, but added: 'It wouldn't be a reasonable question for me to say ''Have you got a penis or not?'' because that's not acceptable. She said the issue is not about 'men coming into women-only spaces', it is about 'supporting people in their lives'.

That's not all she says:

So shut up, peasants, and let Ange decide the hard issues of the day!
