It's an ancient war

... come back with a vengeance in modern times.

Perhaps the most startling quality of world leaders today is that they do not believe in much beyond their own wants and needs.  Many will feign a belief in God for the sake of appearances, but true believers are hard to find.  In the West, where Christianity has shaped society for two thousand years, it is more common to find governments punishing Christians for their faith than to see biblical doctrine defended.

Finnish Member of Parliament Päivi Räsänen, a rare Christian politician in our overwhelmingly secular times, has spent the last several years defending herself against criminal “hate speech” charges for quoting the Bible.  Prosecutors claim that her religious convictions concerning marriage and morality are “insulting” and “degrading” and violate “sexual rights.”  Furthermore, her accusers insist that the State “can limit freedom of expression in the outward expression of religion.”

It's the same "libertarian" justification to hoodwink people who can't see that there are two distinct strains of libertarianism ... classical liberalism which believes in the rule of law, not laws ... an important distinction ... with built in protections for the weak and vulnerable, plus a culture of ethics which defends this ...

... as against licentiousness, which is satanic in origin and says that anything I want to do at all, you can't stop me. Murder, rape, hook up culture, gay sex for kids, sex "change", hard drugs, hooked on Big Pharma ... no moral code whatever.  Shops shortchanging, substituting inferior product, not honouring agreements ... it's a prescription for both a living hell plus a real hell thereafter.

Like it or not, the code underpinning the West, as it was, was a mix of Christian ethic and classical civility, nobility, art, high culture ... there were magnificent tributes by Man to a higher power which sonehow left society's denizens free to succeed or not, give or take, with obvious abuses along the way by false priests, false politicians, paying lip service to ideals but as false as hell inside themselves, greedy, me me me, all status and no real sense of humanity inside.

The very scripture itself which quotes Jesus of Nazareth as saying not only do you accept the Christian God but you accept what is said in the next breath and love thy neighbour as thyself ... it's the only prescription for a society to self-regulate and it's also the foundation of property ... what you earn is yours by right ... and now comes charity, as in faith, hope and charity.

Not the state's grand theft, not muggings, not the feckless stealing of everything you own. In the trad West, all official roles must have good purpose, are accepted by most, plus being fit for purpose, unlike Plod today ... people basically get along.

And when someone defends this trad system, does the new, godless state embrace some new, noble elevation of Man to godlike status?

Does it hell ... it does this instead:

Does this brave new society stand strong in defence of a traditions which once protected ... or does it stand by and spinelessly allow this? The Eloi at the mercy of savages?

Because when all the defences you don't personally like are torn down and only godless, me me me licentiousness rules ... then you reap what we have today.  We'll get onto single hookup culture mothers with their brats in supermarkets next time ... if still alive and uninjured by either state or these feckless licentious.

A Sign Of Societal Change...

Another moral panicmoral panic rears its head, and inadvertantly throws a light on how we've changed in the last 50 years.
The next government should consider proposals to ban smartphones for under-16s within its first year, a committee of MPs has said.

And predictably, it's been met with scorn by the young themselves, and not greeted with wholehearted delight by parents. Why? Well, let them tell you:

In Glossop, Derbyshire, parents' views on a potential ban were mixed. Courtney Clarke, who has a 13-year-old daughter, said she hated her having a smartphone but liked to be able to contact her when she is walking to and from school or out with friends.

Not something my parents used to be concerned about, but the need for parents to be in constant contact is a reflection of how unsafe society now seems.

When I was on my way to school, I did so in a homogenous neighbourhood, where everyone knew each other, and authority figures (not just teachers, but neighbours, lollipop ladies, actual police officers, park staff) were always to be found and would act without hesitation or the need to consult H&S rulings or standard procedures. The violently mentally ill were not roaming the streets, and - though the IRA was active at the time - we had little to fear that indescriminate street terrorism would be a factor in our lives.

“If I took my daughter’s phone off her, I am taking away her social life, and that is not good, either”, she said, adding that her daughter did not have the same access to youth clubs that she did when she was young. She said she would worry about her being bullied if she was forced to use a "brick" phone instead.

The killing of schoolchildren by other schoolchildren was unheard of, yet now, it's a constant worry. Even those who agree that there's a danger in smartphones are reluctant to give up the contact they provide:

Joanne Whaley said she had already gone through bad experiences with her 12-year-old son's smartphone. “If I could change it, I would never have let him have one,” she said. “I would have let him have the old Nokias that we used to have so he could tell me where he is, but the internet being so available has been a disaster."

Is it just 'the internet' that's been a disaster? I don't think so.

Perspective and due diligence … if we’re to fight back

Once again, the intention was to keep my OoL contributions and those at N.O. separate, yet once again … ho hum.

Starting with Winston himself:

Faith in ourselves? Or faith in the power to guide and protect, to give courage provided by the very faith underpinning western society itself, giving meaning to the word “western”?

But dare suggest this to the godless and there is mass exodus … today’s people do not wish to know.

Part of the mindset we do need to develop, the calm cynicism, the knowledge of right and wrong, comes from due diligence, which is what our sites try to pursue afap. There are quite a few pundits now stating realities, such as James Melville, describing himself as “Made in Fife. Scottish diaspora,” who wrote yesterday:

We’re particularly seeing the totalitarian side in Germany and in the Netherlands right now, in Poland, where any whistleblowing of any kind is being met by quite draconian threats of incarceration for years … the aim of course being to intimidate, also dragging Britain back into the totalitarian EU via traitors such as Tavistock’s Pigboy Dave and others.

And what of those not speaking out at all, such as this unnamed Tory MP?

In other words, love, he did nothing, said nothing in protest, “kept his head down” and his job and benefits secure … consider this other view:

Not acting when courage actually required them to. And this is a “good” MP to vote for?

Even to vote or not to vote is a fraught question, yes, surrounded, infiltrated by parachuted-in snakes of low talent and morals:

Yes … everyone who lost a loved one or who was vilified during covid … tell them about “good MPs”.  Yet there are realities, no … these creatures are still in power, are they not, and they’re attacking again, including people like Hancock, only now welcomed back to the fold.

And their game? Their game is a refined gambit of “taking offence”:

I repeat … these people are still in power, even having been invited back. Meanwhile, where does your own reality come from, your perspective? I’d suggest not from the MSM for a start and yet certain of us persist, against all odds, at giving the MSM the time of day.

Here’s an example of a local rag downunder reporting the death of the CBD or central business district or Main Street if you like:

Why are people not frequenting shopping centres now? There are various answers but the reality is that centres are dying, whilst iphones and online purchasing rule. And all these firms, institutions, the MSM, even local rags, speak in NuSpeak:

Not just children … stop teaching doctors and nurses lies, NHS. And what of all these brand new medical conditions? Not new to the sufferers but more scaremongering for the public in general, to keep us fearful, in a state of confusion about which way to turn?

Our Andy points out such a thing:
Why do I think that we are going to see more such diagnoses of this condition in the coming years? https://nz.news.yahoo.com/mrkh-none-us-prepared-diagnosis-182255543.html
There are all sorts of things, aren’t there but I suppose if the young start waking up to all this going on, then that’s at least a few steps for’ard. Andy again (at NOWP):

Maybe You Shouldn't Be The Head Of Nursing Then, Nicola?

A great-grandmother bled to death after nurses failed to pass on worried relatives' concerns to doctors as her condition deteriorated over more than a week, an inquest heard. Hospital bosses accepted there had been a 'very serious error' in the treatment of retired weaver Margaret Clement, a mother of three, grandmother of six and great grandmother of nine, known by family and friends as Peggy.
You won't be suprised, Reader, to find it's a hospital that has form...
Concluding an inquest into Mrs Clement's death this week, Area Coroner Chris Long said he will be issuing a prevention of future deaths notice containing a series of recommendations.

It seems the hospital made the error of neglecting someone who was the relative of someone with a big pulpit.

Mrs Clement's granddaughter, Rebecca Jane Sutton, a GB News broadcaster and former deputy leader of UKIP, said: 'The pain and distress my gran felt at this time is beyond immeasurable, but the undignified ending is something she would have been furious about.
'I think it's a culture within the trust. The culture of the ward she was on was basically to do nothing.
'Nobody with a serious medical condition should be safer at home than in a hospital.
'It's outrageous but there's been so many people I've spoken to with similar experiences. I'm concerned this may be happening in other trusts.
'We trusted in the hospital trust but we were gaslit.
'They told us she just needed fluids but she was dying.'

And how is the hospital going to assure the public they've 'learned lessons' and this won't happen again?

During an inquest held this week at Preston Coroner's Court, Nicola Robinson, the head of nursing at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, conceded that it had been a 'very serious error' when nurses had failed to alert doctors when Mrs Clement became unwell.
Ms Robinson admitted to the coroner that she 'can't promise' the situation will not happen happen again.'.

Oh.

Sticking it to the indigenous of these isles

The Daily Sceptic first:

Then our reader/commenter Toodles, a lady from the deep south Alabama, near Gulf Shores ... she lives with blacks here, there and everywhere. As a genuine Christian, she most certainly is not anti-black:
That portrait is a sham (and a shame)!!! So disrespectful to your princess.

I have several paint-by-number oils at the river. One is of a boat and a boathouse. Another is of a ship on the seas. Somewhere I have stashed away two paintings of ponies frolicking in a meadow.

Painting them was fun (well, for somebody) and took discipline. They also kept children busy for a while on a rainy summer’s day. It was a 1960’s era and maybe 50’s era activity. The quality of those ‘it takes no talent’ paintings far exceed the workmanship of that piece of rubbish done by that woman.

My silly old child-like pieces would probably garner more $’s at a garage sell (car boot sale) than her putrid and insulting piece depicting Princess* Catherine could ever do.

My dog could paint better with his tail and he is dead!
While Toodles downplays her own artwork, I can say that the artistic talent of the ladies who grace the N.O. pages, the sense of colour, shade, texture ... well, I'm not mentioning myself in the same breath.

And to add to that, regulars at N.O. know very well I like to go to certain black reactors to music videos because they feel it right here inside, their sense of musical artistry, of soul, is spot on. And you'll notice a black gal presenting in N.O.s Thursday 18 last evening ... why?  Because the gal is sharp, right on the money, honest, learning.

Those reading this ustd well that I'm categorically stating that the Woke insta-reaction to our seething take on the portrait is very complicated ... it is primarily that the work itself is a piece of excrement, deeply disrespectful to the Princess* but my ire, maybe our ire, is directed at whoever thought such a diversity hire was a great way to stick it to the indigenous of the isles, because any criticism whatever was going to be auto-labelled racist.

Aim? To do dirt on both the Princess* (*I'm not using the word Duchess ... pointedly) and on the people she comes from.

This was deliberate and whoever commissioned it needs investigating and exposing. It may be that we then need to investigate whoever it was who appointed that person etc. This entire thing was signed off by some high-up, like the excrescence of the Chas3 "portrait", plus "artwork" littered about many town centres up and down the country.

At this deeply troubling time in our history, facing the greatest crisis for a hundred years, give or take. Someone above is deliberately provoking us to the point we'll turn on the other ethnicities in the way which happened in Rwanda soon after Kissinger had visited for some time, in the way which happened in Darfur shortly after the UN "observers" arrived, in the way which happened in Kosovo shortly after ... in the way which happened in the Ukraine in 2014 and afterwards.

...........

Pedantic note ... yes, I'm aware that it's "to whom", not "to who" ... but overall, it sounded better in that text.

What to do and say first thing 23rd May?

Was awoken by the patter of raindrops:

... to this:

Inside because it was raining, yes? Wot, like this? In the hallway a few minutes ago ... remember me mentioning the patter of rain?

Idiocy takes many forms ... for example, at the same time Sunak committed suicide, we were all being told to stockpile three days of food.  Smug smile to m'sel' ... aye, I've been stockpiling all right:

Takes all sorts. Suppose we'd best look at this general election thingy, starting with N10:

Uh huh.  Thoughts from others? Bobbie, for example, has been out interviewing ole GK about the matter:

Well yes ... quite so. This chap made a sound point:

Quite so ... but then he went straight back to the same old same old:

Uh huh again. What would my ole, now deceased mentor Chuckles have voted? Plus NCB here?

Some people are even suggesting the return of Nige, as Tice R is clearly not up to snuff and not inspiring anyone outside the M25 bubble ... but caution is advised:

Some though have some confidence:

Last word perhaps to Larry the Cat:

The Tyranny Of The HR Department

A major British industry group has been accused of publishing impractical guidance over whether self-identifying transgender women can use single-sex spaces. The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) states in a guide that refusing a transgender person female-only facilities could be 'discrimination' in law.

The fact that this collection of blue-haired harpies who swallowed the Stonewall kool-aid is considered a 'major British industry group' at all gives you a good idea of why we are no longer a world-leader...

But Maya Forstater, chief executive of gender critical group Sex Matters, said the charity - which represents HR professionals - should 'start again' with its approach.Former thinktank researcher Ms Forstater told the Daily Telegraph: 'We think the CIPD's guidance on trans and non-binary should be scrapped and started again. It's written in a way that sounds like it's taking everyone into account, but it's not usable.

Well, that rather depends on exactly who it was written for, Maya, and what its intended use was...

'She added: 'The answer that 'you should consult and take legal advice' is not practicable. What we're talking about is a big company, retail or anywhere with lots of sites all over the country, some of them have a picture of a woman in a dress in the door.

They have a picture of a human figure in a dress. Whether that only applies to Brenda from the typing pool or includes Ron from Maintenance is what buys solicitors their next Ferrari...

'Are they female only? The answer can't be 'we'll take legal advice'. The answer has to be yes or no.'

Expecting a clear and unequivocal answer from HR departments? Might as well wish for a unicorn...

The sheer excitement of politics

Do you ever get to that stage where it's all exactly the same, will never change, that there must be more to life?

Never mind ... here are two rivetting events coming up:

Not exciting enough?  Book your seats early for this one:

Bye, Sweetie!

Don't let the door yp Heathrow hit you on the way out, and good riddance!
A Palestinian student who said she was 'full of pride' after Hamas launched its attack on Israel claims the Home Office has revoked her visa on the grounds of 'national security'.
Dana Abuqamar, 19, a law student at the University of Manchester, attended a pro-Palestine protest just one day after Hamas carried out its October 7 attack. During the demonstration, Ms Abuqamar, president of Manchester Friends of Palestine, was filmed saying she was 'really full of joy' and 'proud that Palestinian resistance has come to this point'.

Excellent news, and very gratifying to see that they don't always drop the ball at the Home Office.

She has now claimed that the UK Government has 'violated her human rights' by rescinding her student visa on the 'baseless' accusation that she is a 'risk to public safety'. The Home Office told MailOnline it does not comment on individual cases and it remains unclear precisely what revoking the visa means for the teenager's future in Britain.

Hopefully that she doesn't have one.

In a new video released this week, Ms Abuqamar confirmed she would be appealing the decision and said her remarks in October, which were publicly condemned by policing minister Chris Philp, had been misrepresented. 'My words were taken out of context and they were framed as me supporting harm to innocent civilians, which is completely false and completely untrue,' she told the Middle East Eye.

They didn't need to be 'framed' as anything, it's patently obvious what they were.

She added: 'It's an outrageous claim that the Home Office is making by deeming me a national security threat. I am a 19-year-old who has done nothing but go to school and advocate for social justice and try and be an asset to my community. 'So saying I pose a threat to national security is a completely baseless claim.'

Whether it is or not, we don't need you here, we don't want you here, so home you go where you can spout racist rhetoric all day long, should you choose.

All roads lead back to “classic liberalism”

“Classic liberalism” has variously been defined but mainly means living with others in a spirit of freedom respectful of others … unmolested, hygienic, inc. low noise pollution.  On our floor of our house, thank the Lord, we have that at this time … there are two or three who don’t abide but they’re at the far extremities, away from us.

What triggered this was DAD’s news item:

The Spanish government has been accused of violating basic religious rights after a group of peaceful protesters were fined for praying the rosary outside a church near the headquarters of the governing Socialist Party.

It all depends, does it not, on what that “religion” allows and exhorts you to do.  Frankly speaking, as non-Catholic, what effect does a whole lot of rosary bead handling do to me? Not a lot, might even help in the other dimension. What do extreme Jewish people in those outfits do? Again, to me, not a lot unless they’re into Netting Yahoo stuff, killing the infidel and there’s a fair bit of that in the OT.

Buddhists? Bahai? In terms of my opening paragraph … no issue. Death cult? Needs to be expunged from the shores, simply that, given the violence which is integral to it, similar to that thug thing from Mexico. Also the rise again of the weoponised, chip on the shoulder black. See that Melanie and VDH vlog again … methinks that’s an important vlog overall.

So yes, I judge by that opening paragraph for sure and others forcing things upon us … but what about globopaedo and rainbow perversion, which involves molesting and perverting children?  We’re not directly molested and trafficked but we’re sure abetting it in other ways. It’s underground but your child is in huge danger, if only from really twisted ideas and from us refusing to speak out on it.

Christian charity? It’s the one faith … the whole thing being about letting others be and supporting, if necessary, a neighbour having hard times, not through fecklessness. And other cults are trying to destroy this Christianity. Why? We know why. It’s the polar opposite of dog-eat-dog, of the seven deadly sins. It reproaches.

I’d argue that my opening paragraph in this item is very much a result of Christianisation. Yes, charitable feelings are not exclusive to that faith … were there no charitable feelings 2070 years ago, say? Of course there were … but not coded in quite the same way.

But there’s if there existed live-and-let-live “westernism” … if that was a thang, a former reality, then its ebbing certainly corresponded to the ending of Christian charity as well, the end of that underpinning faith and its principles.

The trouble comes when puritans take it upon themselves to police others. On the other hand … that lot who disrupted an abortion clinic inside the building … what of that? Preventing how many babies murdered that day, parts sold off? Is there a point when a practice becomes diabolical and stopping it is a duty?

“Westernism” is a mix of many things, never forgetting the bloody side of it … wars, public executions, putting people in stocks in public squares, the rise of an obscene priestly class to rival an obscene aristocratic class … it was no picnic in days gone by.

Nuff for now.  Just thoughts.
