The sheer scale of projected disinformation

This post uses the Covid, mask, lockdown, jab issue as the material but the thrust of the post is using examples to illustrate the difficulty of discerning fact from fiction - for those on both sides of the divide.

Inundation

The sheer volume of material being pumped out by citizen journos is starting to match that of the MSM and nowhere can that be seen more than at one small blog, N.O., which can be added to Conservative Woman, Lockdown Sceptics and how many hundred others?

Unsupported claims masquerading as supported claims

This one's the bona fides wrecker.  An online daily downunder, the Geelong Advertiser, has this as its mailing as of Sep 7:

If I click on the Read more, there's an impressive list of cases across Victoria and then this comes up:

Censorship: The First Defence of Dictatorship

Stalin knew the power of the printed word. So when he commenced his Great Purge, newspapers were forced to obliterate any images of those unfortunates who had either come under the KGB’s suspicion; or who had already been exterminated.
Stalin.1
A well-known example of Communism’s ‘Disappeared’ was the photograph of the ‘meeting of the St. Petersburg chapter of the Union of Struggle for the Liberation of the Working Class in February 1897.’
Stalin.2
The man standing to the right of Vladimir Lenin (Seated, behind the table) was ‘Disappeared’ and presumably executed. He had become a non-person!
Unfortunately, here in the third decade of the twentieth century, we aren’t far away from Stalin’s purges and Lenin’s fanaticism. You don’t believe me? You just try standing up and speaking on religion, or politics, or indeed on virtually any subject under the sun at Speakers’ Corner or a High Street, and see how far you get before you are arrested, bundled into a police car, and later released, because you tried to speak your mind. The bloody police later stated ““That is the role of the police, even if a decision is subsequently made that their actions are not criminal. In this case, it was deemed appropriate to remove the man from the area!
Fair enough, the preacher was later paid £2,500.00 as damages; he wasn’t executed: but he was SILENCED!
Let’s look at Australia, a Nation which used to be a shining example of freedom, in all respects of that elusive ‘Right’. When I visited Australia when I was in the Merchant Navy, the truth is that you could say or write anything about anybody or any thing. As long as you could prove that you were speaking the truth, and you weren’t inciting violence; the sky was the limit in ‘the Lucky Country’.
My, my; how times have changed. As blogger Jo Nova relates, “A Sydney doctor has been hauled before the NSW Medical Board after he questioned evidence behind Covid-19 vaccines and promoted unapproved treatments, including Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin, in a case that will test the limits of what medical professionals can say publicly.”
Yep, for the vile crime of saying what he thinks and sincerely believes, the Authorities have suspended this Anaesthetist’s licence, and are trying to gag him.
And while we’re on the subject of Censorship, how come literally no one has ever mentioned or championed Ivermectin in GB&NI?

And Would You Open Up Your Surgery For Them To Have It?

Covid vaccines have been a remarkable success, but if we are to enhance public safety and return to normality, we must build on that achievement.
Interesting you talk about 'coverage', because Janet Street Porter points out:
...the real scandal is happening at GP's surgeries all over the country. And I don't think money is the problem.
Waiting rooms lie empty, lines of freshly sanitised chairs sit without any occupants. Signs on external doors say 'do not enter without an appointment' - so the sick stay at home and potentially shorten their lives, forced to hang on to the phone waiting for ages or try and log on, remember their NHS number, password and navigate a complicated website.
It's easier for Michael Gove to enter a nightclub mask-less and make a complete tit of himself, than it is to meet your local GP face-to-face.

Seems they are only willing to do this now if they are weilding a needle like an eager Spanish DEFRA vet.

GPs are holding 3.4million fewer face-to-face appointments a month compared with before the pandemic. The shocking figures reveal the scale of the shift towards consultations held remotely.
The Alzheimer’s Society said virtual appointments do not work for people with dementia, while Labour, which analysed the NHS England data, said the shift increased the risk of serious illness being misdiagnosed.

But who cares about serious illness when we have a version of the flu to worry about?

Watch out for the stealth taxes

TPA today:
News broke late on Thursday evening that the prime minister was planning a hike in national insurance (NI) to fund social care. The TPA media team immediately sprang into action and just minutes later we had fired off a press release to the nation's journalists.

We were soon fielding many calls and emails from journalists which resulted in no fewer than six broadcasts appearances on Friday. It's fair to say the TaxPayers' Alliance dominated the airwaves as we led the charge against this tax rise.

A rise of just 1 per cent in national insurance means that someone earning £20,000 will pay an extra £104 in tax every year. That could rise to over £200 if the health secretary Sajid Javid gets his way and a larger rise is implemented.
I'm not talking longterm tax and NI contributors, not talking pension earners, not talking private occupational pension holders, I'm talking about the new freeloaders the money's being thrown at.  Can't say any more as OoL will be in trouble.

What homework says about the state of things

This is old, it may well have been contrived - look at the handwriting for example - yet the overall situation in schools is not contrived.  What can you observe in the following two?

This'll Go Down Well At Friday Prayers...

Teachers can help counteract the rise of the “incel” movement and the dangers of misogyny with school lessons on respect for women and healthy relationships, ministers believe.

Start with the mosques, shall we?

A government source said that Gavin Williamson, the education secretary, expects teachers to be able to tackle the risks from incel culture through the relationships, sex and health education (RSHE) curriculum within schools.

Ah! No danger of shaking anyone's worldview then, since they probably don't let their children attend these anyway...

It follows concerns sparked by Britain’s worst mass shooting in over a decade, in which Jake Davison, 22, killed five people including his mother and a toddler in Plymouth last week. After the attack, it emerged he had shown interest in the incel – or involuntary celibate – online culture fuelled by misogyny and abuse of women. Police are investigating whether this was a motive for the shootings.

Going to run up against the thorny issue then, that he didn't solely target women, aren't you?

On Thursday, an inquest heard that he argued with his mother, for whom he expressed hatred online, before the killing spree.

He's dead, she's dead...how do they know?

But maybe I'm making light of a serious issue, and there's lots of Jake Davisons out there (thanks, GPs!)? Are the people who make a living off this sort of thing seeing a lot of cases?

William Baldét, a Prevent coordinator and practitioner in countering violent extremism for 10 years, said: “I’ve not personally seen anyone coming through who was explicitly driven to violence by the incel community but we have seen an increase in people engaging with those subcultures. It may be because we are better at recognising it, it may be because of an increase, or both.”

Ah. And if he can't manufacture it...

He added: “It’s clear that misogyny as a concept runs deep through a lot of extremist ideologies. Incel is different in that it’s built around a hatred of women and feeling of inferiority, rather than bringing about societal change, but there’s a related need to tackle misogyny across society. That should be part of the whole system, at every level, and not just framed trough (sic) counter-terrorism.”

Of course, he can. They always can, can't they?

Full panic mode by govt, pod people and karens

Refusenick Corrie on Gab presents:

Common Purpose infested councils are wasting taxpayer money propagandising pavements to get the young to acquiesce. The most disgusting aspect of the wastage is that they're pushing the line that kids don't need their parents' permission - just do as you will.

Notice the age 19 - legally not needing parental approval?  This is now way beyond anything sane, it's total pressure on a generation they reason are mindless compliance machines, brainwashed.  They do fear this pushback from the young because people such as us get to see it and heaven forbid, might even join up with the young in opposing this diabolical roll-out.

When were we Brits asked if we wanted a new Muslim surge into GB&NI?

I forget how many times I heard the plaintive anonymous voices on either TV or radio, all saying the same thing. “I worked as an Interpreter for the British Forces in the past, I fear for my life; so you have to give myself, my wife and my seven children, plus my whole extended family numbering another twenty-three people, permanent residence in Great Britain.”

When were we asked if we should open those leaky borders?

When were we even asked if we thought that all these Muslims deserved a place in GB&NI?

Let me remind readers of only one statistic: but, a truly vitally important statistic. It only takes one of these thousands to commence buying hydrogen peroxide, most commonly found in hair products, along with two other chemicals equally available online or in stores, to make a suicide vest, along with the nuts and bolts which would form the shrapnel: much the same as the Manchester Arena bomb.

It only takes one to become a suicide bomber: and we are letting thousands of these putative terrorists in, without even the facade of a screening programme!

Inequality - It's For The Birds...

Feeding birds is hard-wired into our national psyche. The apocryphal Victorian “tuppence a bag” for seed for the Trafalgar Square pigeons has morphed into a national pastime, with an estimated 17m households spending £250m a year on more than 150,000 tonnes of bird feed – enough to feed the entire breeding population of the 10 most common feeder-using bird species year-round three times over.

Good for us, doing our bit gor nature! Strange to se a good news article in the 'Guardian', though?

This was brought into sharp relief during the pandemic, with many of us discovering the joy of attracting birds to our own gardens after losing access to wildlife and wild spaces.

Oooh, I don't like where this is going. 'Joy'? We can't have that!

So we know that bird-feeding can be good for humans, but what about for birds?

We could ask them? But...what could possibly be wrong with it?

Blue tits, nuthatches and great-spotted woodpeckers have never had it so good. These species have something else in common though: they are all dominant species that can monopolise resources such as food and nesting sites.

Ah. Of course. No socialism to ensure sparrows and swallows go equally hungry!

Marsh and willow tits, lesser-spotted woodpeckers, several migrant flycatchers and warblers have been slowly disappearing from the British landscape since the 1970s, as one woodland area after another has lost cherished members of its dawn chorus choir.

Look! It's even affecting migrants! No wonder the 'Guardian' is worried!

Forced to develop strategies to survive, they have become more innovative and have diversified the ways they interact with the landscape. Unlike blue and great tits, the drabber and less obtrusive willow tits excavate their own nest holes, meaning they don’t have to wait until a natural cavity forms, which a more dominant species would probably take. This means they can occupy new sites, like young woodlands, which are unsuitable for their more imposing relatives. Similarly, the marsh tit collects and catches food and stores it for a rainy day – or a harsh winter. It is faster to find new food resources and has a stronger bill to deal with harder food items.

Hurrah! Innovation and adaptation saves the day...but wait. That can't be the answer, surely?

But these fancy tactics are rendered null and void by bird feeders providing food 24/7; it is gobbled up by the dominant species, sending their numbers up, and increasing the threat to subordinate species.

See? It's all our fault, of course. Does the 'Guardian' have any suggestions?

We badly need a better understanding of the consequences of bird feeding and, armed with this information, there is one clear piece of advice we can give for those concerned with bird populations. Where possible, improving habitat amount and quality in our gardens is a vastly more important gift to nature than any bird seed handouts.

That's if you have a garden. But what am I saying? Guardianistas always assume everyone lives like they do...
