Won't Do Anything About Shoplifters...

While the authorities are targeting criminal gangs who distribute dodgy fire sticks — conducting police raids and making arrests — they are also starting to create a list of names of people who are using the sticks illegally. Police have this year started knocking on doors and asking users to stop using the devices in their homes.
...but will come and knock on your door if they think you're watching 'Mrs Brown's Boys' on catchup illegally.
Detective Inspector Steve Payne, from the Bedford-based Eastern Region Special Operations Unit of the police, which led the investigation, says: ‘We have also gained access to the details of those purchasing the streams and I would remind anyone doing so that they will be breaking the law and could ultimately be subject to criminal proceedings.
‘The two arrests made last week are part of an investigation into a sophisticated large-scale criminal operation that has generated significant sums through the illicit sale of TV subscription packages.
‘Money generated through illegal means such as this often funds wider organised criminality.’

You couldn't make it up, could you?

Two parties almost impossible to reconcile?

Even for Christian people, as in kindhearted, charitable souls … even though all parties involved at the Christmas dinner table wished for a truce to exist for the sake of the third party, maybe for their mother’s sake … well let me illustrate … let’s start with this from further down:

The tweeter is non-vaxxed, let’s say it was female … not only did she go through such monstrous behaviour by the vaxxed sister who turned into a real karen monster, quite happy to see her sis die in a concentration camp for daring to refuse the deathjab …

… but even now, that karen is still pigheadedly unrepentant I’d say, despite the science conclusively showing the criminality of the entire deathjab operation … the karen is still clinging onto the Faucis, Whitties and Hancocks on the faux media … so there is zero remorse from her whatever, quite the opposite.

And the sis tweeting is seething and bitter about what she had to put up with and still is. Had the science resoundingly backed the karen, then I’d place a bet the tweeting sis would have reconciled by now.

Which raises another horrifying reality … look how very little it took for that family to be split. There were obviously grievances going way back to childhood but as these weren’t terminal … and for the sake of their mother, say, they’d been in a sort of tentative permatruce until 2020.

In marched globopsycho through the MSM, well aware of what they were doing … after all, there was the lesson of Kissinger in Rwanda plus the UN in Darfur … it took days, weeks at most and those sisters were never going to speak to one another again.

Imagine how their mum would feel.

But for any rapprochement whatever, the party in the wrong would need a change of heart … there must be remorse and a desire to atone first. Even if Christian, it still requires that process first, does it not?

Not having a sister or brother myself … there were some second siblings plus in-laws dotted about but none close … given that, I have no bitter divisions to personally heal … but all the same, I can feel what it would be like.

Long after Fauci and Biden’s CCP are gone, what’s going to happen in that family between those two sisters? You do see how diabolically easy it was.

Merry Christmas

We’ll do the New Year closer to the day.

Back in the day, we’d need to be careful whom we offended celebrating Christmas and by that is meant the homegrown “happy holidays” mob.

This year, with all that’s gone on and is going on, patience is considerably shorter … this is Christmastide now, not some foreign irrelevance … and so Julia, Mike and I wish you all, readers, a relaxing week after a frenetic few days now.

Thoughts of course for the very real victims of the last few years, especially tomorrow … and a quiet warning to be careful … that lot are still out there wishing us ill … it’s with no sense of irony though that we wish you …

Merry Christmas, readers, one ’n all.

Universal sentiments

Every single mother on the planet, every single father, understands this tweet:

OoL readers, Christmas wishes from us will be later this afternoon, all right? Political things just for now.

Transforming The High Street...

From redundant office blocks to old cinema and club sites, bold new plans are set to shape the future of the sites, changing the skyline forever.
In the biggest application, submitted to Southend Council, Comer Homes wants to turn Alexander House, an old HMRC office block in Victoria Avenue, into 557 self-contained flats with shops on the ground floor.

Another benefit of the 'working from home' movement?

In Alexander Street, developer Vikesh Kotecha has submitted plans to convert the partially-demolished Empire Theatre, later known as the ABC cinema, into 22 luxury self-contained flats with shops on the ground floor.
The same developer is also planning on a development on the former Churchill’s diner site, in Tylers Avenue, which has been vacant since 2021.

This is where new homes need to be built, not on the greenbelt! But the utilities and services need to be increased in line with them. And seldom does that ever happen.

Festive cheer

Don’t want to bring anyone down now in the throes of festive cheer but just bear in mind:

These bstds have a whole pipeline of agenda items to release one by one … my prediction for Christmas, apart from satanic effigies and the cultural enrichmenters destroying Christmas trees is some other sort of jihadi atrocity or maybe the Just Stop Oil mob gluing themselves to gays, lesbians and trannies.

Seek, and Ye Shall Find: Knock, and It Shall be opened unto You

I wrote to my own MP as follows:-

Dear Mary Foy,

As an ordinary, questioning member of your Constituency, can you endeavour to ascertain how to question, in person, in the House, the newly ennobled David Cameron, who is said to be the Foreign Secretary?

The Tory Prime Minister has placed this man so that, as far as I can tell, he cannot be brought to answer questions within the Commons.

I would therefore ask you, as my MP, if you are indeed content to allow someone who was most cavalier in his attempts to gain Treasury help for his employer, Greensill Capital; to act as our Representative across the world, to oversee National Security and GCHQ?

Yours sincerely,

Mike Cunningham

Now normally, this would probably never have been heard from again: but wait:- a Written reply to a Written Question:-

Penny Mordaunt Lord President of the Council and Leader of the House of Commons

The Procedure Committee is conducting an inquiry into this issue and it would not be appropriate for me to pre-empt the conclusions of that inquiry. The Government will respond to the Committee’s recommendations in the usual way once they have published their report.

In small victories, the basics of good governance can be seen. In a nutshell, this, folks, is what Democracy is all about: to ensure that a lying, thieving, squirming Politician is made to answer to the Elected Representatives of The People.

Another Useless Government Target That Won't Be Met...

...not to mention yet another thing we can chalk up to lockdown:
Working from home during the pandemic may have stopped people quitting smoking, researchers have suggested.

*sighs*

The rate of decline in smoking rates across England appears to have 'stagnated', with more young people taking up smoking during the pandemic and a slower decline in the middle classes quitting than those who were less affluent.

With the constant price hikes they can at least afford to!

Researchers suggested that people who are less affluent may have felt more urgency to quit during the pandemic, while those who were wealthier and had professional or managerial roles may have carried on smoking due to stress.

No s**t, Sherlock!

The study warned that the Government needs to 'reignite progress in reducing smoking among the more advantaged social grades and identify ways to accelerate the decline among less advantaged groups' if it is to get near its target of making England smoke-free by 2030.

Why have the government - a Conservative government, at that - set such bizarre targets in the first place?

Not-so-Smart Motorways (Again)

I made a video the other morning. I previously made videos which attempted to describe the grief which permeated my entire life, after my beloved Jacqueline was summarily sentenced in our local hospital, but I stopped after I realised the emptiness which I faced was permanent; and so I came back to reality.

But, of course, I digress: back to the latest video. I recorded about twelve minutes, speaking about my opinion regarding the so-called ‘smart motorways’ about the lunacy in planning which came up with this weird notion that if you take away an item which has proven to be a safety asset from a high speed motorway, you can ‘improve’ the traffic flow. I posted it on my blogsite, and also pushed it on X (Twitter)

I am of course referring to the fact that, since the imposition of this maniac idea, where you make the ‘breakdown’ or ‘safety’ lane into an extra running lane on this ‘smart’ motorway, place platforms holding illuminated speed signs telling drivers the maximum speed; but not much else, then traffic flows will improve. The once totally accessible ‘breakdown lane’ is now a series of ‘Emergency’ areas, but spaced about two-odd miles apart.

There were also plans to festoon those overhead platforms with monitor cameras to ‘detect’ stationary or broken-down vehicles, but, strangely enough, the technology just wasn’t good enough. It wasn’t exactly ‘good enough’ for seventy nine fatal accidents resulting specifically from that ‘transformation’ onto a ‘smart motorway’ status.

The news item which spurred my interest was the information that the Highways Agency was funding a large increase in the numbers of ‘Emergency’ areas on all of these not-so-smart motorways. That particular gem reinforced the theory that no Government, or even an Agency of that government, will ever admit that they got things wrong. But, at least, they have come up with at least a semblance of a return to ‘civilised’ thinking: they would never admit a stupid idea, but at least a way to cut down on the carnage.

But here’s the strange thing which I discovered the day after I posted that video. I must confess at this point that my YouTube audience is primarily friends and family, but as I said, I uploaded that video onto YouTube, and copied it onto X (Twitter); and the VERY NEXT DAY, I got SIX notifications or comments on my humble YouTube post; all telling me how stupid / misinformed / totally bad I am: so you can maybe guess the vituperation poured on my unsuspecting skull. I received an extra fifty views on my own blogsite!

The strange discovery? I had stumbled onto one of the thousands if internet ‘worlds’ where the users attack each other with ferocity; all over safety, or rather the lack of safety, on a certain number of motorways, on the one I sampled; is pored over ad infinitum. I shall not link to these strange people, as it might well encourage them; but it does make me wonder: ‘are they the fruit-and-nutcases; or am I’?

Unless we, men and women, get this sorted … we’re goners

The very first problem we have in even discussing this below is the toxic relations between the sexes today, deliberately induced by the authors of Wokism up above … see Douglas Murray …

This post might not even start to make sense without at least checking out what he said and what the three lasses below said, before even getting onto our Julia … I can only speak for myself here but unless we actually wish for good relations between the sexes … genuinely want that, all resentments set aside for now … it first requires a number of things in a man, then in a woman:

Christy O Misty

Emily W King

Courtney Ryan

a.  They genuinely love and admire the other “species”, noting its shortcomings, yes, but also seeing the wunnerful things in the other … that’s the first and greatest requirement … and I am not referring to biological necessity here nor getting off on a woman’s body nor her getting off on his shlong.

It has to be genuine liking for their company, wanting them around … see Courtney specifically above.

b.  The second imperative is to choose whom to speak with … this is such an explosive matter today that the misplaced disrespectful dismissal disqualifies that woman in my mind. If her thang is scoring points, then she can just eff off, I’m not wasting my time.

I’d probably not even waste my breath on this lot:

… for all the reasons we’ve posted over and over, maybe summed up nicely in this recent news item:

The Feminist Majority Foundation, along with Feminist Campus, Equal Rights Advocates, Girls Inc, Women’s Legal Defense and Education Fund, Trust Women, United State of Women, and the National Organization for Women, and numerous feminist groups signed a letter attacking the federal ‘Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act’ for daring to protect women from suffering the way that Payton and other female athletes had.

That lot don’t give a rat’s arse for the welfare of women, only for their me me me selves.

Then there is the age/generation issue in itself, best commented on by a woman of experience, in this case Agatha Christie in her short story with the wizened old Mr. Satterthwaite.

“I was such a foolish girl - girls are foolish, Mr. Satterthwaite. They are so sure of themselves, so convinced they know best. People write and talk a lot about women's instinct. I don't believe, Mr. Satterthwaite, that there is any such thing. There doesn't seem to be anything that warns girls against a certain type of man. Nothing in themselves, I mean. Their parents warn them but that's no good - one doesn't believe. It seems dreadful to say so but there is something attractive to a girl in being told anyone is a bad man. She thinks at once her love will reform him.”
[Agatha Christie, 1934]

This is discussed in great detail by Emily and Courtney above and though they’re speaking primarily about today’s dating scene, the general principles apply, plus one more thing:

c.  If the lady often goes in to bat for the man … she has a history of it … and if the man’s first instinct is also always to support and defend the gal … is that not a great basis for communication?  I mean we can actually get somewhere then between the sexes, stymying all those who would try to split us … for their political reasons.

But so much white noise can get in the way, so many things get said which are unhelpful … we have to really, really want this.

Ulterior motive? Well yes, in my case. No longer in the dating game, what’s in it for me?

Well it’s like this … unless we start the rapprochement between us, start pairing off again, marrying, procreating, both father and mother at home … then we can see what’s going on out there within our own western peoples … plus we’re going to be overrun by the barbarians … it may already be too late, I hope and pray not.

But ladies and gentlemen … we really must adjust our thinking … NOW … otherwise we’re goners.
