Julia left Friday morn's post open to me ... my thinking is to liveblog on matters Brit from around 7 p.m. Thursday, open to Julia as well (she would just add it, going upwards, latest higher on the page, below the dotted line).
Now you, the reader, can either comment or email ... downside is I'll be asleep from 2300 this evening. Let's go.

9. Debbie's thoughts, on X
"Have to say, I'm really disappointed with the Reform candidates in my area.
They haven't once come around the doors, introducing themselves,so apart from a printed leaflet, I don't know anything about them. If they are going to change people's voting, they need to be seen."8. Jen K, Reform lady, on X
"I think Zack Polanski from the Green Party is being used for the time being, “he’s never had any political experience” then something will come out about him & Zack’s work will be done & hey presto the Muslim Deputy will take over & there you have it, the Muslim Party is created."

"I have voted today, for the first time since photo ID was required. Prior to that I religiously turned up to spoil my paper. This time I actually voted, in the past there has been no alternative to the usual suspects so I put my cross alongside the Reform candidate. Not that I necessarily want them to win but in the hope that the new right will gain traction. When there is a general election I will hope for a Restore candidate. Until then I will prepare for the worst."

"Just voted for Reform at my local polling station.
While I’m not happy about it, I would dread to think what Greens would be like. I respect Rupert Lowe’s decision not to run any candidates in such a short time. While it is my first time voting, my parents have said it’s the busiest they have seen polling stations in many years. No matter what politics you side with, it’s undeniable - people have had ENOUGH."3. Paul Francis on X
On response to Jeremy Clarkson:
"I won’t be voting Tory. I’ve got a memory."

Today, my mate up the road pointed out that whatever the result, every side will claim victory. If Labour don't lose all they're mooted to, they can say not too bad. If Kemi's sudden serious demeanour and newfound competence just before the election has raised her status in disillusioned Tories' minds (the ones who are horrified at being considered racist and "far right", they'll claim Brits coming back to them. If Reform take all those seats, but not quite as they thought, they'll say great first outing. If Reform get Great Yarmouth or even just one or two seats, they can say well done all, we're the future. The Greens? Who cares?
