Governments let ideology cloud their judgment. For instance Labour think they can tax the country to prosperity, because they alone know the best places to spend the money. But Labour spend it on the sick and unemployed. Worthy ideals, but the sick and unemployed do not produce profit (except for the companies supporting them). But overall, Labour's ideology will not bring prosperity. Only by allowing people the freedom to form businesses that employ more people, by removal of restrictions that make setting up a SME expensive, can the government enable prosperity. They cannot magic it out of thin air on their own using our tax money.
Andy, the people that think like that, think they are above the morass that forms from dissolving civilisation. Sadly and in every historical case, that's far from the truth. The problem is getting the Soros' and the Schwabs and the rest of the uber-elite to understand just how fragile their position is.
