… or housing PLUS remigration?
There is no way to build enough homes to house them all the way they’re multiplying now. I ran a youtube on worst seaside towns now and one was Southend. Our Julia wrote:
The thing that’s killing Southend and many other seaside towns is HMOs- and London councils shipping their undesirables to them!
One commenter on the tweet above replied to the question:
What if govt kept building at a lower rate, nicely designed places … PLUS remigrated, say, 20 million within 5 years?
……
Anyway, that’s a bold idea but the implementing of it is, at this time, pie in the sky … even were some enterprising strong leader to remove the “illegal” numbers, what of those who went about it the right way, some generations back? In short, they’ve very much integrated?
Plus, in a ramshackle, rundown country where even the RAF planes are leased from a hedgefund these days … whose army is going to march into the ghettoes and do this thing?
I for one suspect that economic necessity is going to decide it all … and not that much further into the future either.
It certainly won't be easy, some have assimilated quite well like our local Italian community. They have contributed so much to our little city, sure they hold their values and customs through the generations but values to be admired. Others, like our new MI6 chief and London Mayor, have reached the very top of our establishment.
ReplyDeleteOver the years, successive governments have poured millions, perhaps billions of Pounds into housing the small boat invaders. In that time, they have had enough time to build comparatively basic, but comfortable accommodation away from areas where the residents fear being overwhelmed by the numbers.
ReplyDeleteWhen I joined the Army, I was accommodated in 'Spiders'. A central area with toilets and washing facilities, with accommodation legs off it, each leg having dormitory style sleeping areas, and central catering and relaxation areas being in close proximity. There has got to be places where these can be built, or disused ex military areas which can be renovated. No 4 star hotels; no free mobile phones or internet access. Just comfortable, basic accommodation. If they don't like it, they can always go back to their homeland, or tent city in Calais. Just a thought.
"Renters Paying up to £2.5K extra"? Make that £5K pretty soon, as landlords cotton on to the gravy train that will be immigrants housed in private rented accommodation to the tune of 5K a month. That will end up the de-facto minimum monthly rent.
