“Blowtorch” and the art of hyperbole
Is it the insanity of Net Zero and related psychoses, is it that Them are stuck for surpassing their last hyperbole, is it that it’s in the hands of Gen Zee at the Met office … or is it their own notion of humour, at a bizarre juncture of our Nu Lab Society, and this is to appease the Beloved Two Tier?

It's so predictable. In the current never-ending 24-hour a day news era, outlets need to grab our attention for clicks and views,
ReplyDeleteSo we get the ever-increasing doom spiral. One News outlet's Hot, becomes another outlet's Scorching, so the next news outlet has to go a step further with Blowtorch.
News becomes drama in order to capture our attention.
Last year's yellow on the temperature graph is next year's red. Weather warnings that used to be primarily for Businesses that needed to know are now used to ratchet up the tension.
After the dismal start to what was supposed to be warmer conditions over the last couple of years, probably caused by constant cloud cover. We are now gifted with clear skies, so by comparison this is new scary territory to the unthinking. They couldn't have planned it better. Is this weather unprecedented in our experience?
