Good Friday greetings to readers

Sorry not to be more inventive but hot cross buns are still the order of the day:

And here's that recipe in case you can't find any fresh:

I've a personal message below the read more line, possibly Julia, possibly Grandpa will add their thoughts somewhere. Have a good Easter, readers.

Personal addendum from James

If ever there was a commemoration or festivity so fraught by diversity in what it means to which people, it's Easter/Pascha/Resurrection Sunday (and by extension ... Good Friday).  From our Gab type out and out libertarians through to our "religiously inclined", the capacity for offence is major.  Time to trot out the old trusty quote about it:

I can only answer for myself here but the very act of wellwishing on this weekend is nice ... for some, it will be fluffy bunnies and painted eggs (my ex-gf overseas), plus that special Orthodox bread ... for some it is the passion of Christ today, even our pagans recognise the festivity of regrowth of spring.

One thing for sure is that in our part of the world, it is one of these things ... it is not that excrescence blighting our people, esp. our girls and women ... then our boys in schools, then us men, such as we still are.  It is not the globo horror our political class are pushing so hard ... at least we do flatly reject all that.

Bless.

  1. As someone none to fussed with chocolate and who loathes Perl (so never eats hot cross buns) Easter is not my favourite holiday - my heart belongs to Christmas! But have a good one, all, however you choose to celebrate it!

  2. As a one-time, but now long-gone Catholic, Easter doesn't signify anything else that Tesco being closed, but I did manage to post a Double-sized Bacon Butty on X, so's to piss off any surfing muzzies.
