Unpleasant observations

Increasingly, I’m drawn back to an earlier post which details “the young Scot’s” observations under the banner of the “Fuel Project”. The episode from which I drew the quotes below is Three Predictions and it’s intended for a “watchership” of the already believing and therefore having received the ticket they keep misplacing.

However, readers of OoL comprise a minority of these, who are even further divided by interdenominational and theological disagreement, rendering “us” quite ineffective, unless referring to eternal verities which even the “non-religious” would agree with.

In short, the majority at this site are rationalist thinkers … I come primarily from this camp but also have a foot in the citadel of belief … which I reached by rational thought, not unlike CS Lewis and others … as distinct from upbringing. It’s becoming increasingly clear that the things the young Scot are going on about are quite easily predicted … this was the path he says he himself took:

It turns on Winston Churchill’s observation:

The young Scot (henceforth TYS, in 2023 approved three letter form) himself observes:

“We’re predisposed to putting ourselves first.”

And I’d add:

“Brooking no opposition.”

“When you lie to someone, you’re putting yourself first, when you cheat … etc.”

And I’d add:

“When you cherrypick the bits you want but ignore those you don’t like … same.”

The ancient biblical word for putting self first is “sin” … the counter to that is selflessness. In modern terminology, it is narcissism and gaslighting versus serving others. This “service to others” manifests itself in the current day in charity, volunteering our time, helping out, penny in the poor box … let alone the selflessness of mothers and fathers, with the exception of Stella Creasy MP, who resents the constraints her child places on herself self self self.

Stella is the MP, you’ll recall, who flopped out the udders in parliament to illustrate just how tough she has it, vis-a-vis work v motherhood.

But I digress … coming back to the notion of self v selflessness, Wikipedia puts it this way:

“Leviticus 19:18 in the Hebrew Bible (is) about the ethic of reciprocity known as the Golden Rule or the Great Commandment.”

In the NT, Jesus of Nazareth put it this way, (later written up in Matthew 22:36-40, KJV version) when confronting the Pharisees, those “whited sepulchres”:

36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? (asked by one of Them)
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

TYS notes that when humans invert that notion of the Divine first, with your neighbours second and you last, so that self becomes all … self fulfilment, self comfort, self every bleedin’ second of the day … then all the Dorian Gray troubles begin, as mentioned in Isaiah 5:

[20] Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
[21] Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
[22] Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink:
[23] Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

Philosophers and writers on the human condition, outside of “religious” terminology, include:

Refugees welcome, labelling this sanity or that as phobia, Wokeness, SJW projection, covid karen fanatics … the uncanny ability to get it wrong, to tolerate wrong in some sort of cognitive dissonance which is projected as the high moral ground, virtue signalling … it’s jawdropping to the victims …such virtue signalling includes:

Tell that to a young female activist, brainwashed in school from day one … or to the vicious black clad new young male of zero moral compass, who loves smashing things with no consequences.

We’re witnessing the birth of a new lawless era, of generations of lost boys and girls whose parents and grandparents strayed … they therefore (the kids) are the new ignorati … and:

Me me me, self self self, Meghan Meghan Meghan. To that we could add:

Or to come back to TYS’s predictions:

To that, we could add:

A decade and a half ago, I ran a post on neo-Hegelianism or at least to a number of stages, starting with:

* Them wish to control the world
* They first create a neverending series of crises, such as in the Weimar Republic
* All solutions fail or make it worse
* A messiah appears who will supposedly take all the bad things away
* People everywhere clamour for this person to drain the swamp
* He sweeps to power … Them therefore achieve everything they had wanted
* This alternative to the insane lawlessness of the left seemed great at the time
* Now follows the final collapse due to one essential factor:

There is no human messiah.

There was one, born around 2023 years ago and his doings were written up over the next two centuries but no one wants to know about that.  And no human is going to rebuild western society, is not going to build back better, unless he himself is in thrall to the one 2023 years ago. Even Putin is acknowledging this.

On the other hand, Speaker Johnson in America, wrapped in the cloak of religiosity, is showing himself to be be very iffy indeed, not unlike another “religiocious” one … Pence of PEPFAR and of Dave Brock infamy, friend of Ryan and of all RINOs.

But that’s now making this post way too long. Nuff for now.

James, you might find this article of tangential interest to this post.
I recall that the other king rat, Lloyd Blankfein of Goldman Sachs, boasted that he was 'Doing god's work'. I use lower case for god because it is not clear to me which god he and others like him worship.
But look at how much JP Morgan has been fined over the years and apart from one low level employee ( I believe) no one has been jailed for any of it, let alone Mr Dimon.
Mrs Warren, aka Pocahontas, also had a vociferous role to play during the Presidential elections of Donald Trump. Not an honourable person in my books, I wonder if she was a mate of Mr No Name, John McCain?
