The Queen’s Day

There was a phrase which was known by all before the invasion or influx, however you wish to call it … God, Queen and country, not sure if country was capitalised or not.

The U.S., I suppose, was God and country. The former British colonies pretty well followed Britain’s lead and yet there was republicanism in each of those, plus at home here.

So, in 2022, what do we have?  Well God has been dustbinned by most, not including by me, I’m still uttering that part of the national trinity, whilst I’m not sure the other two members of the OoL trinity would include Him.

Now to the second person … the Queen.  My two partners at OoL would still firmly utter that part but over at the N.O. site, we’ve seen far too much now to utter an unqualified “Ma’am!”  Twould be quite qualified, I’m afraid.

The third person, “country” … well what can one say?  All three of us at OoL have deep misgivings about the destruction, as is evidenced by posts passim at this site.  All three of us have witnessed the wilful destruction of Britain, whether through expenses scandals, judicial outrage or the NHS … and especially the curtailment of freedom, even liberty.

OoL is essentially about the third person of the national trinity here, especially about freedom of speech.

Now, back to the second person in the national trinity.  Look for a moment at Grandpa’s post before this.  Look at the MSM eulogising Beckham’s twelve hour wait or whatever it was.  Now, in realpolitik, one must note the outpouring of the multitude and I for one heed that.

And it is more than clear that the Uniparty, Globo, Marxist Starmer route is not the one the British people, at grassroots level, wish to see pursued.

Of the three of us … Julia, Grandpa or me … I’m the most likely to be circumspect about the Queen, yet I was the one still arguing for a hereditary House of Lords in 2007 … it’s still there in posts.  And I was the one, as a small child, at a parade where the Queen rode by, who broke from the crowd and rushed towards her carriage to say, “Hello, Ma’am,” until gathered up by a member of the constabulary and returned to my parents.

Now, as one who would today still utter “God and country”, and being very much concerned by our country, as are my partners … plus observing this outpouring by the people, common and new aristocrat celebs, filing past the coffin … then methinks ’twould be churlish for this loyalist to say anything negative today on the Queen … not if my country thinks otherwise.

Future?  Chas … and I’ll not refer to him in any more respectful tones than that, given his behaviour and that of other royals … is a period we must now endure as a nation until the ones the people really want … Wills and Kate. I’ve thoughts on Wills too but shall keep them to myself.

And now Julia’s post:

  1. In any other circumstances it would not matter a jot who ascends to the throne. As long as they hold to Christianity as our faith and don't get involved in politics. The new monarch gives us plenty of reasons to doubt that he will hold to that. God, monarch and country are very much intertwined, any loose nut in that machinery could cause a breakdown. Time will tell.

  2. We would never know if Chas or any other royal gets involved in politics because after the 'Spider memos" which we released after the Guardian battled for 10 years to get them using FOIA requests, a law was passed exempting Chas and crew from the Act.

Why does go Chas go to Davos? To enjoy the mountain air?
