Senior Plod are completely out of order here

This is well out of order and we should be furious about it.

Stonehenge was given to the British people in perpetuity by wealthy lawyer Cecil Chubb in 1919, on the condition that “the public shall have free access to the premises” in perpetuity. Chubb also required that Britons not be charged more than a shilling per visit, about £3 in 2021 money after inflation. The actual fee charged by English Heritage to see the stones in 2021 is £19.50.

Until now, it's just been Christians and ordinary folk:

Never thought I'd find myself defending pagans, wiccans etc. but for goodness sake - Stonehenge is their "thang" and it's on this day. While it's outrageous removing these pagans from their sacred site, it's also curious because the Masons are into mystery religion and the head of theirs is also the head of the pagans/wiccans.

Which suggests that the new religion descending like a blot on the world is truly global communist, bureaucratic, banal evil - does this mean that New Age festivities are also banned?

The grounds on which I defend pagans in this matter are "nativist", i.e. they are the original people here, the original religion.  Do not forget Pastor Niemoeller's warning, readers.

Don't be silly. All the pagan stuff was invented in the 19th and 20th centuries and has only a speculative link with the pre-Roman religion, which is in any case only documented in Roman sources, who weren't reliable when discussing "barbarian" customs.
