There's far more to the closed-down pub than money

Point is not just greed over the price of a pint, not just the smoking ban, but the intent of the evil muvvers variously known as the ruling cabal, Them, the UN, the communists [whichever epithet you prefer].  

To demoralise a society from within, first offer its leaders obscene amounts of money, then attack the key institutions within from where any insurrection is likely to come, as well as denying the population the comforts and joys they relied upon - thereby dividing and ruling.

Bring in a faux threat, e.g. coronavirus [I did not say there is no mutated virus, just that it is a faux threat until the colluding medicos get to it] and there it is - fait accompli.

Question as always is what anyone can do about it.
