Today is the deadline by which taxpayers have to submit their Self Assessment tax returns. For many this means hours slumped over a calculator and a mountain of receipts trying to decipher complicated forms and then, after all that, handing over their hard-earned cash to settle the year’s tax bill. According to consumer magazine Which?, out of 4,000 people asked to answer true or false questions about the process, only three got them all right. On average it takes 2.5 hours to complete a tax return. But worryingly it takes over 5 hours for one in ten people. It's no wonder so many dread doing their tax return. |
Are you one of these, the poor sods? Along with the covid guff, Plod and their mates, the Karens and the insane Wokery, the Sword of Damocles of imminent unemployment, should you be insufficiently Woke and insane?
I have a little retirement hobby which nets me a couple of grand a year-after claiming for any computer or phone related toys. I use a program called TaxCalc. For about £32 a year it makes calculating and filing my returns pretty simple. (Disclaimer. I have no interest in the firm, I just use the software.)https://www.taxcalc.com/individual

Ah but the illegals aren't being chased by HMRC. Maybe you have found the answer.
