Maui and the mishandling of disaster

First up ... Clif:

Toodles from Alabama adds that it looks far more than sheer incompetence:
I am so grieved about the Maui victims. So grieved.

On a much lesser scale, but still sensitive,  when we were attacked here by our own govt with the oil spill, they tried preventing us or anyone else from doing anything to help - disgusting time.

Our fire dept and other individuals fashioned something that reached the entrance of the bay which is connected to both rivers.   It helped prevent it or at least lessen oil from seeping up into the upper waters.

It was an awful time. Sludge and gunk and no one in our govt. caring. The idiot in office cared least of all. He and his goons made a visit here and he showed who he was. Felt like (cause they were) Af. thugs with him on his first visit.  They were mean and woke looking .  Auntie Tiffany looking but wearing Island shirts and Island shoes and guns like in the movies … Island mobster look.

One time he  brought those stand-in children with him to swim in the waters of Panama City Bch area which at that time had no sludge like us because it was far removed from where the oil well cracked. That area probably eventually got some  sludge. Not at that time though.

You could tell he was miserable being here…there . I heard they plopped in the water while being filmed and then out they went. The ultimate photo op!

After that the waters really were polluted! All that faux liberal love really contaminates ….as if they care. The Body Language Guy could have had a field day. Their disgust for the South was so palpable!

Anyway the govt tried to stop us on every front from fighting the oil getting everywhere.  It seemed so intentional at the time … because it was!  We were not to do anything but wait for them to pitch in . Sure…sure.

We did wait and wait and wait!

The thing is the independent minded people who once were younger and stronger and had a positive influence here in the community and who lived and appreciated nature are much older now. Who fills those jobs now?

But this thing over on the Island  of M is beyond horrible. Evil and creepy. Those who had any hand in it are SINister.  The govt prevented us from helping when Mexico Bch FL was hit and also from helping in Tuscaloosa too after the tornado back when the same Goons were in office and who are still running the show.   It was and is crazy.

  1. There is no possible natural disaster that can't be made worse by years of insane theories and complacent government.

  2. I'm not American, so have no concept of State of Federal aid for national emergencies, but wonder what the political views of the victims of the disasters mentioned, Maui, Mexico Beach, or Tuscaloosa, are? Recent events in Biden land seem to show the the Democrats are keen to aid Democrat areas, but slow to aid Republican areas. In the case of Lahania on Maui, the cynical side of me suggests the survivors of the fires will be moved to other places while the wreckage is removed, then told they can't go back due to safety concerns. Then, several years down the line, mansions owned by Democrat voting celebrities or conglomerations will stand on the shoreline. Thankfully, UK politics aren't so cut and dried, yet!
