The eternal libertarian dilemma

Consider this from Rolf (Sackerson) at Now and Next:

Moral issues can’t be simply resolved by analysing cashflow; that’s the sort of thinking that could even be used to justify killing unproductive people, which is exactly what the writer and socialist George Bernard Shaw advocated in 1931 - and again in 1948.

Keeping the debate on the ethical level, liberty is a strong counter-argument to puritanical bans, though one has to weigh freedom in one’s personal habits against the harm and expense they cause to others.

  1. Then there is sugar, fats, salt, meat, tea, coffee, cocoa, keeping warm, travelling about, covid "vaccines", lockdowns, working from home, commuting, wearing more than the necessary minimum clothing, bringing democracy to The Ukraine, having children, not having children, taking part in hazardous activities, etc. etc.
All done or used by selfish thoughtless people regardless of the cost to others.
    Something must be done, because..............
Now you have me worried and what is the true cost of all the worriers in the country. And don't even think of suicide. The costs of that to society is measureless.
