If Louisiana can do this four weeks ago ...

... then what of us?  Keep your eyes keen because the first thing I noticed was:
April 26th, 2021: In a normal year this would have been the first Sunday of Jazzfest in New Orleans, but due to Covid, this is the next best thing.  Great show by Tuba Skinny from the porch of the Tigermen Den. Bonus points if you spot the divine Maria Muldaur dancing her heart away.
Whoa - April 26th this year?  Four weeks ago today?  Lockdowns?  Masks?  All sorts of questions have I, plus jazz lovers get some jazz:

What's Louisiana law about all this?

How are the hospital stats?  Is it, as my Bama pal said - "just Louisiana" and they all seem three sheets to the wind?  Come to think of it, it's a timeworn ploy in Russia to use alcohol to ward off bugs - also remember Dave Allen and the bug in water, then in alcohol?

I'm not entirely smiling - I had twelve years of observing that.  But of course, this post contrasts that with our govt and the "protected NHS".  For the "science", go to even the last day or two's links at t'other place and at Sloggy's and there is sufficient doubt not to defend the compulsory rolling out of all this, plus the bullying.

Dom tries to swat this argument away in his thread, accusing “UK political pundits” of “spreading nonsense on Sweden/lockdowns”, and compares Sweden unfavourably with Denmark. A pretty feeble response, as we’ve pointed out numerous times on Lockdown Sceptics. (see Noah Carl’s piece on Monday for a comprehensive rebuttal of the “Yeah, but, Denmark” critique of Sweden’s approach.) No, the example of Sweden, which refused to lockdown and whose health service never came close to being overwhelmed, remains a devastating riposte to the apocalyptic doom-mongering of people like Dom back in March of last year, who were screaming at the Prime Minister to lock everyone in their homes because… the NHS.
What we got with Johnson was a knee-jerk alternating between weakness and 'let's all pull together and beat this, chaps', combined with following false science through the health druids who were quite wrong and agenda-driven, from Ferguson to Fauci as others are now finding out, plus the realisation that the NHS crisis was not overwhelmed by patients from here but overwhelmed by patients from the multitudes ushered in and swamping the NHS with their ailments.

And then there's a nation being run by SpAds, appointed because greedy, ambitious, ignorant pollies know nothing and someone like Cummings throws his weight around, such as it physically is, ruining a nation's livelihood and morale.  So our lives are determined by a load of clowns in Brussels and London, with ravening wolves in the shadows directing an agenda of Build Back Better and Great Reset ... way to run a nation?

To the music itself in the clip, it may be OTT ... but in a milder form, he/she might have something:
I love everything about this. The music is wonderful of course, but in so many neighborhoods in the U.S., people don't even know each other. Right now folks feel so isolated. Music always brings people together and Dixieland is just the happiest music on earth. This clip is very special.  It's what the entire planet needs to celebrate life.   :-)
There's something to be said for that.

A quiet aside ... well well well ...
